We can thank the digital age for the change in terminology. I once told my daughter it was ten minutes to three. She looked confused. I showed her my watch, which said 2:50. “Why did you make it a math problem?”
I confuse people cause my watch is set to the 24 hour clock and when asked the time I say 11:11 hours or 15:25 (3:25 pm) for those who don’t know the 24 hour clock.
well, also, since no one mentioned it & this cartoonist seems to have a subtle leaning towards the metaphysical & such, 11:11 is a significant number set… It tends to keep appearing in one’s Life at certain times (for instance, about 6 yrs ago, it kept popping up in mine for several months… then kind of fizzled out, but I then came in contact with 2 younger girls in whose Life it was happening (I found this out, b/c one of them commented “Look at the time ~ 11:11 !!” and they both giggled like “Can you believe this ?!”

Funny coincidense – there is a danish joke about the bakers birthday being 11.11, because it also sounds like the word for kneading dough x 2.
