Both points can be true… I’ve read some books that could put me to sleep in a couple of pages (but I almost always finish the book… eventually) and I’ve read some books that I couldn’t put down until I finished reading the whole thing. Most books (for me) are somewhere in the middle…
Reading is good for you… it helps broaden your mind to a world of possibilities. It does help if you understand the difference between fiction and non-fiction. Too many read a work of fiction and then base their entire life on what they find there. If you read enough, and can keep your mind open to reality, there is much pleasure to be had from reading and learning.
But then I enjoy reading. My best guess is that my personal library has in excess of 3000 books (and about 45 years in the collecting, I started in my teens). Of course, that’s a personal choice of mine, no one needs to do that… just go to the public library and enjoy.
Never met a book I didn’t like when I picked it…however, had to read the book where the dog died …..I believe it was Ole Yellower for 9th grade English …..I cried my eyes out I hate when animals die.

I’m with Baldo on this one… I’m not much of a big reader.

A shame that some books don’t have good qualities in them.

Baldo, you can only read one page at a time—whether it’s one big book or five little books.
