I usually tend to block spam calls on my phone.

Sorry, Sergio, the system won’t transmit that loud.

Why be that rude to somebody who is just trying to pay his/her bills. Just say over them, “no thanks” and hang up.

Most of those “not a sales call” calls I get are a robot so the air horn won’t do much good. Plus I always get them on my cell phone at work. Not so sure my coworkers would appreciate a random blast from the air horn.

And this just seems to call me make a bit of a Public Service Announcement….

I was left a voicemail the other day which was a computer-voice-robo-call. Because it was a computer, it didn’t get to leave the whole message after the voicemail answer and all I got was, "ignoring this message will be considered non-compliance and will result in legal penalties. You must call….. " For the record for anyone who gets a message like this: in NO legal matter whatsoever will the notice be given in a computerized robo-call. A call of this sort is a scam. Do not reply to it. Do not call them back. Do not say anything after they start playing a message like that, as a verbal “yes” could be used by a computer system to gain access to your phone data and/or account. Just hang up. And let your friends and relatives know not be scared of these official-sounding messages, because they do sound official and legal and scary. It’s easy to tricked when they have scared you first. Don’t become a statistic for ID theft. Just hang up.

The confused message is a recording. Dial one and wait for an eager to be abused operator.

Ask the operator “Did you know that every transaction you complete is a fraud and is really hurting somebody. Please don’t call back.” They curse me, but I am going for days without calls.

My CallerID said XM/Sirius, I picked up. It was a Posigen Solar Panel salesman. Hung up. They are posing as other companies to get you to answer. Another, a scammer, shows up as the phone company and cable company.

another public service announcement, there are text messages going around fro “bank cards” saying there are issues with your card and a link to click. Delete that text it is a scam. Credit card companies won’t contact you in such a manner

I answer my state’s name Attorney General Fraud Division, living people disconnect fast without saying anything :)

List your number on the Do not call LIST. . . . BWAHAHAHAHAHA.

Likely as not that was a robocall anyway.

Easier and cheaper to either just hang up or not answer unknown calls at all!

If you don’t recognize the number in your caller ID, don’t answer. If the call is important, they will leave voice mail.

This is why I have an answering machine.

I got a new one today…. seems my (unidentified) computer company is going out of business and wants to refund the money I spent on the pc.

I believe what Papi did is considered illegal. Don’t try to copy him.

The way I use to hand these calls? I would say “Excuse me, but can you hang on for just a minute? Thank you.” and then put the phone down and continue with what I was doing until I heard the “off-the-hook beep”. I figured at least I kept them from making a couple of other calls.

Call block works for repeat calls, I have over a 100 blocked #’s. I have no sympathy for unsolicited anything.
