I had a teacher – forget if it was high school or college who would not give a 100 as no one was perfect.

We have state required “Regents Exams” in high school. Normally one takes their first one in junior high in 9th grade in algebra. The exam is 3 hours – given all over the state at the same time and one cannot leave until 2 hours has passed. I did the exam. I checked my answers, I checked my answers again. I then waited for the 2 hours and raised my hand to leave. When I arrived home my mom was upset that I was home early – I should have used all of the time and I explained that I had checked it twice and if I checked it again I would start to doubt my answers. Week or so later I got my report card. Mom was only interested in how badly I had done the exam by doing it so quickly and leaving before the end of the exam. She asked my grade. I told her – 100. She (actually, really, truly) said to me “Next year you will study harder and do better your Regents exams.”
