As much as I happily enjoyed lengua in a burrito once or twice upon a time ago, I think the running gag of dissing Carmen’s especialidad is getting old.
Has anyone considered gently broaching the subject of this particular dish with Carmen? The squeaky wheel gets the grease. If it’s done respectfully and tactfully, Messrs C&C will have to invent a new McGuffin. ;0P
That “When life gives you lemons” saying has never made sense because it assumes that life has given the person lots of “sugar” as well, which is usually not the case or they wouldn’t be feeling bad.
Last time I had lengua, I thought it was roast beef, it’s probably less expensive though. If life hands you lemons, grab some tequila and salt and PARTAY.

Lengua is better sliced for sandwiches on Rye with mustard & horseradish.
A slice of Swiss cheese added to the sandwich isn’t too bad either.
