Back in the days when cigarette smoking was still socially acceptable, I devised a game to keep the grounds and other areas of the resort I managed free of cigarette butts.
I would stash specially marked cigarette butts around the property. Any employee who found one would receive a $5, $10, or $20 cash prize, depending on the code I’d put on it. There was even a $100 one out there – which a really sharp-eyed maid found!
It kept the staff interested and engaged as they went around the property on their daily business, and kept the property clean.
