Shika, off today and tmr. yet. Work Wed. and Thurs. I have 4 weeks of vacation to use by Dec. 31 or I lose them. At the moment I am taking them in long weekend spurts. Don’t know if we will take a vacay this year or not.

Shika, no. if you don’t use them you lose them. They do give a bonus if you don’t use sick time, but as you may remember, I have to periodically use that time. The payroll clerk at the beginning told me I would be better off taking the sick time because my vacation and personal days were better than the sick leave bonus, which after I calculated it, the sick leave bonus is pretty much worthless in the long run.
They took our sick days away when I was working. We had to use vacation days if we were sick. Personal days in retail are unheard of.
Thanks for explaining it to me. We were encouraged to work straight through the year ( I never did), and take the pay at year’s end. Even though it was more money, my mental and emotional well being did not include working without any breaks.

Tia Carmen has a point. Having no money doesn’t make one poor. Not having love makes one poor. I’ll bet she had a lot of that.
