Are we in a series where Ballard Street men wind up upside-down?

The Tin Basset is using his joint medicine, like so many of us.

For reasons known only to my subconscious, this Wizard of Bassetland poster brings to mind ………………. the Pink Basset. Henry Mancini is smiling.

I can’t imagine how Gene is going to navigate those steps.

    Hullo all…..

Well, here we are again, meeting on Ballard Street to discuss “Cleo and Company” ….

This time, the the August 30th  2018 strip.

Another fine “Wizard of Bassetland” poster by StelBel….

The Tin Basset, this time… see it on Sherpa

    http://www.comicssherpa.com/site/feature?uc_comic=cscwy

I thought that maybe soon we’d have our very own forum….

but yesterday’s post from Nighthawks made me see that it may be a while.

    Don’t give up!

Not Nighthawks, not Stel…. not the rest of you readers.

We do have our own forum, in a way…

interrupted only by a few commenters from 10 years ago.

We’re as loyal as Robin Hound’s Merry Men….

well, OK, bad example…. anyway, we’re here, and we’re staying!

    Sit! Stay!

    If you’re lurking…. post some time…

I think the more posts, the more traffic… and the better it will eventually look.

The problem is, right now, it’s probably considered traffic for Ballard Street, by GoComics’ computer algorithms…

but if Nighthawks is ever in negotiations for being syndicated… ie, put on the main page….

I think a human could be induced to check it out.

Maybe they already have… or at least one can hope!

Anyway…. this is another lovely character rendition based on the 1902 Broadway production of the Wizard….

which, by the way, was a musical, but all the old recordings are lost.

Oh, if we could only hear that howling!

The humans did imitate this one…

some skinny guy in a tin suit…. no match for a basset, of course.

I wish I had something to squirt on MY joints….

best I can find is “Salonpas” patches.,,

If I  were in the position Gene is in, my face would be beet-red too…. until I passed out.

Not that I could even contort myself into that position in the first place…. or get out of it again.

I might be able to pedal, though, while I was still conscious.

Gene’s gonna need to borrow the Tin Basset’s oil can…. or maybe some of my Salonpas™.

Liverlips… you mean, you can tell which direction he’s going?

I thought maybe he had just descended the steps. And not comfortably.

Dennis… the only upside down fellow I could find in recent strips was the one in yesterday’s… in 2018.

    So if it’s a series, it’s a long, drawn-out one. LOL

My favorite part was @nighthawks sampling my “My favorite part is” schtick. #rocksolid #scoutshonor #yadayadayada #butitsfree #2019

Love the Tin Basset. Like Susan, I wish I could just oil my joints a little and all would be good. I’m sure sunshine would help, but it seems to be missing today. More smoke on the horizon – will it ever go away??

Loved the line about the Musical Extravaganza! Do all the characters stop their trek and burst into howls of delight? And maybe even the chorus bassets will do their high kicks?

Great series, Stel. I’ve enjoyed them all.
