Hi, everybody!
OK, tonight I’ll share…
We can all comment here on StelBel’s beautiful poster….
it’s the Jan 22nd 2019 “CLEO and COMPANY”
on Sherpa…

I remember this one… a classic Art Doggo poster, for an iconic Fritzy Langbasset film.
It might even be the earliest full length science fiction film…. far ahead of its time.
A dystopian future, heroic dogs rising up against their dependence on machines….
the ideas were later revisited many times, but this film helped invent the genre.
Dennis, don’t worry… I don’t believe that’s Cleo.
The only credited female I see on the poster is Biscuit Hound…
but she played a love interest…
I believe that inside the robot costume on the poster is an uncredited actress who played The Machine Dog….
and a what a heavy costume it is, rather than a transformation via makeup.
The humans tried to do this too, you know….
but look how their so-called “Machine Man” lacked the grace and charm of the basset robot….

I have an idea…. instead of going to someone’s house….
lets all go catch this revival at the Bassetplex IV.
That way we won’t have to hear Uncle Bosco at all.
OK, I called the theater …..
I can get us all discount tickets to the 2nd matinee.
And for $2, a special snack tray that includes a hot dog, a small soda, a small kibblecorn, and your choice of candy bar.
Who’s coming?
