Yawn…. OK, OK…. I’m here, already….
A person who lost an hour’s sleep… and even more, cos she had to get up earlier than usual after a night with an hour-long hole in it…..
Ought to be forgiven a little moment of eye-resting, I think.
But yes… sorry, Dennis, about the late notice…
we are indeed heading over to Roberta and Larry’s….
to discuss the March 11th 2019 “CLEO and COMPANY”
Brand new, today! On Sherpa

I was, of course, expecting Cleo to say “Chop chop!”, as she “clak-clak”-ed her chopsticks.
A fine old pidgin expression for “Hurry hurry!” or “Quick quick!”
From what I know (though etymologies do seem to change through the years due to research and/or dispute….)
“Chopsticks” too, comes from that same “chop” … as the words in Chinese mean, or once meant, “Quick boys.”
And “chop suey” for Chinese cooks in California quickly throwing a bunch of leftover vegetables together in a pan,
and putting soy sauce on it, cos Gold Rush miners didn’t know Chinese food…
but were hungry, and would eat anything and pay big bucks.
Your language trivia for the night. You’re welcome.
Roberta is making grilled cheese sandwiches on really nice 9 grain bread… with or without ham, as you like.
She was going to make tuna salad, and maybe a jello mold…. but Larry, you know, he changed the whole game.
I’m bringing a big pot of my home made tomato bisque (soup)… and a couple of blueberry pies.
If anybody would like to bring some salad… or… wow… celery stalks stuffed with peanut butter… it would really hit the spot.
I had a busy Sunday and not much time to plan.
Thanks.
