As long as he doesn’t get it into his gourd that he’s the center of everyone’s universe.

Yes Ted, we have noticed that you are living in your own little universe. Like many Ballardians who do not have the hat for it.

Bassetwood is an intriguing, exciting place, but if you are not careful you wind up on a 35mm leash.

Basset Boulevard; a true classic. And as such, it is hard to find something new to say about it. Gloria Swanshound looks absolutely captivating in that makeup. I hear they had to pack her jowls with gauze – a trick borrowed by Marlon Houndo in The Godbasset – so she wouldn’t appear to be slobbering in her closeup.

    Well, here we are….

back again with another great poster from StelBel to admire.

    Hi everyone!

And in case you’re new here….

we’re talking about the May 7th  2019 “CLEO and COMPANY”

Which you can see on Sherpa

    http://www.comicssherpa.com/site/feature?uc_comic=cscwy

    Wow…. Basset Boulevard…..

The poster says “A Clevewoodland Story”…. but that doesn’t prepare you for for what’s coming.

Insanity, for one thing. The part of Norma Deschund is a tour-de-force portrayal of aging grandeur, self-delusion, and eventual madness.

And that’s after it begins with a monologue from a dead body, before he dies.

The first time I saw it, I thought it had elements of a horror film….

but it’s also wonderful, full of old Clevewoodland stars… and two famous silent film directors, one playing a part, the other himself.

And of course, Gloria Swanshound, who plays Norma, a fading star of silent films, was, herself, a silent film star.

    Sigh… the complications that ensue.

Once again… humans copied this movie…. it doesn’t have the same power…

And even in the poster, it’s human star is chewing scenery like mad.

    https://i.postimg.cc/tg8xpdgT/Sunset-Boulevard.jpg

    Meanwhile… Ted’s hat is rather suitable for a star, I think….

I like it… and while I’m no famous actress, I kind of want one.

Say…. maybe I can get one with SUNS!

    Coffee and pie today, everybody?

I have at least 14 fresh varieties right this moment at my pie shop!

Oh…. and thanks, Nighthawks, for confirming about the new strip yesterday….

Did you ever see when I answered you about the grawlix?

    @StillTheBelle

stole my idea. To Her I, Rotty Tailwagger, am just an auteur to be twirled around Her little finger, then discarded when She has what She wants. She frolics in the fount of my creativity but doesn’t even toss in a penny when She’s done.

Wow! Another glamorous Parabasset production! And the Stars. Those eyes! Gloria Swanshound at her close-up best! No wonder this film earned 3 Golden Biscuits! I always enjoy a good Clevewoodland movie.

(Another famous human knock off is the Carol Burnett version. She gets those eyes down pat)

    Nice poster, Stel.

    What ML said.

Health update: As of today 5/7/19:

I’ve lost 35 lbs., 4" off my waist and my pulmonary function test was just a tad better than last fall.

Pulmonary doc is happy. Right now he’s not recommending a transplant unless something goes to crap in a hurry.

Heart is still clogged a bit no stents needed, which I don’t understand why it’s clogged. My total cholesterol is 100

Everything else is in the normal range for my age group.

Guess you guys will have to put up with me a while longer.

I finally found you. Thanks for posting the link, I always forget the date format.

I love your poster, Stelbel! Cleo looks smashing, as always.

Nighthawk, the link to getting your strip in my inbox doesn’t work. Can you send me your strip if I give you my email? Or provide a working link here? Comics Sherpa isn’t very cooperative.

Ted’s starry halo is scintillating. As long as he stays in the centre of HIS universe, I am fine with whatever he wants to believe.
