Fine dining in Cleveland, is the subjectâŚ. or at least, dining at a local eatery.
It actually looks exactly like a place where I used to eat a lot, (many) years ago.
It would look like a restaurant from this angle⌠but was actually in an area located at the back of a Thriftyâs drug storeâŚ. with only a low wall separating it from the sales aisles beyond that row of booths.
If you want to know how many years agoâŚ. all Iâll say is that we used to go there on Fridays for the all-you-can-eat spaghetti and meatballs. Not great⌠but only $1.49.
Â
Nice to see that the waitress asks who ordered the kibble entreeâŚ
In a way, I guess Cleveland has one thing in common with Ballard Street⌠no species discrimination or assumptions.
BTW⌠thinking about my post up there to Liverlips, about dog foodâŚ
it reminded me of something I read, that maybe I should mention hereâŚ. a PSA, if you will.
There are a lot of faddish âhealthyâ diets for pets, just like for humans⌠I use quotes because some IMHO are rather crazy, some not.
Like all those exotic meatsâŚ. people buy them because theyâre told their dogs have allergies to more common proteins found in beef, chicken, etcâŚ. so perhaps only mongoose or wild gazelle will do..Others believe that because wild dogs donât eat wheat and oats, they should feed theirs a grain free diet.
Â
Grain free pet foods have recently been linked to major heart problems in dogs.
One study I saw found the effects in dogs eating expensive, supposedly very healthful, food from premium brands including Blue Buffalo, Rachel Ray, and Chicken SoupâŚ. also in prepared âraw foodâ sold in pet stores.
Some of the brands substitute dried legumes, potatoes, or sweet potatoes for the grain⌠scientists are still trying to track the connection.
Â
But if you currently feed your pet a grain free food, pleaseâŚ. donât take my word for it, but Google âgrain free food and heart problems in dogsâ.

This was not as easy as it looked! I only got 6. This is my all time LOW! Of course, the three I missed were quite obvious. Not like a different number of french fires, or a lumpier omelet. Geezsh!
It might be that pork is more allergenic than other meats.
As for grain, compared to wild dogs, domesticated dogs have evolved to have much higher levels of the genes required to create enzmes for digesting grains, probably started from stealing human food even before domestication. But even humans descended from the areas where wheat was domesticated, still have cases of celiac disease.

Some day, theyâll be reading about Uncle Stew in the paper. Perhaps heâll even be front page news. Thatâll force them to address the situation.
GROG Premium Member about 5 years ago
The place was featured in Diners, Drive-ins and Dives and Cleo orders a kibble omelet? Why couldnât she order one of their famous burgers?
SusanSunshine Premium Member about 5 years ago
OK⌠I guess itâs bedtimeâŚ. so even though I havenât seen some of our usual cast of charactersâŚ.
I guess Iâd better drop off the work of our friend, the semi-anonymous animation-solution-maker PERFECTIONISTAâŚ
who is stel giving us her much-appreciated animation solutionâŚ.
Thank you, semi-anonymous animation-solution-maker PERFECTIONISTA!
Â
This week, there are some fairly tiny details in the puzzleâŚ. but you can do it!
Solve it and then look at the solutionâŚ. doing it the other way round doesnât count!
