Oh my!
Is Cleo Clifford about to join the centuries-old list of scientists who have been persecuted…
… like Galileo, like Alan Turing, like so many more…
Just for engaging in scientific exploration and debate?
Join the debate yourself… right here and now…
over the May 27th 2020 “CLEO and COMPANY” on Sherpa.
That’s where our white-coated heroine has just performed an experiment so daring that she risks her life in the process.
OK, truth to tell… the risk to herself in the actual procedure is minimal….
It’s the risk of discovery and subsequent retribution that threatens her life.
Are we going to allow that?
Are we going to put up with the stifling of the scientific spirit….
the damping of the thirst for knowledge…
the willingness to ignore one’s own comfort to push forward in the realm of practical inquiry….
The mixing of all these metaphors?
Yeah… I suppose so… cos that was awfully MEAN, Cleo.
The thing is, it won’t come to any of that.
As soon as Claude recovers enough to say a word…. three words…
It’ll be a loud “Confound it, Cleo!”
and back to business as usual…. without even a wrinkle in her coat…
neither the white one nor the fur one.
