He’s solved the propulsion, but the navigation will need work.

What is this? A magnifying glass directing the sun’s rays onto popcorn?

The Ballard Street Laundry apparently uses too much starch.

I share the puzzlement of those from ten years ago, above. What is that apparent stream of something coming from behind Gary? What is it impacting on Gary’s device? What is the purpose of the magnifying glass?

A vintage Cleo & Co. today. Once again, Cleo analyzes the facts in evidence and reaches an appropriate conclusion. Typical.

Gary has his pipe, his comb, and his cardboard inserts, so he is feeling confident. He may not go very far, but he will enjoy the ride.

    I sympathize with Claude in today’s C&C:

I have to be careful to avoid putting nasal spray in my eyes or vice versa. Or spraying Athlete’s Foot spray under my arms.

I don’t know what Gary’s means of propulsion is, but I hope he patents it right away before the idea gets stolen.

    Hi Cleoites, and visitors..

Time for a classic laugh… it’s the old “Mistake-the-glue-for-something-else” gag, in

the July 29th  2020 “CLEO and COMPANY” on Sherpa.

A tube of glue is usually mistaken for toothpaste in comedies… used to be hair cream, but nobody uses that any more.

I’ve seen white glue for frosting (making me wonder how someone could possibly mistake a bottle of Elmer’s for a bowl of icing).

    Glue stick for Chapstick…

Funny thing is, it’s always still funny.

Old joke: "My wife asked me to hand her lipstick.

I accidentally gave her a glue stick.

She’s still not talking to me."

This one works better than some cos the bottles are similar…

though why Superglue was in the bathroom… who knows.

Actually… some women use nail glue to secure their fake nail “tips”… (horrible stuff)…

It’s basically Superglue except it’s supposedly a little less toxic (with the exact same ingredients, though) and sometime scented.

It comes in the same sort of bottles as regular Superglue, but in “cuter” colors and brands.

That would be scary, cos I have eye drops in a bottle that same size and shape… only reason it doesn’t look like glue is that it’s turquoise.

Then again… I don’t plan to wear fake nails.

What I do have is too many 1 or 1/2 oz tubes of stuff, like hydrocortisone cream, antibiotic ointment, athlete’s foot cream…. etc.

Target and Kaiser (my HMO) sell almost identical white plastic tubes… the writing and a simple logo in a different color for each medication, but easy to mix up.

Luckily, most mistakes in that kind of stuff won’t do much harm…. antibiotic ointment won’t glue your lips closed.

Claude’s lips are also glued together. He has to talk out of his left ear.

I remember the story about the woman that glued an eye shut because she thought superglue would be a good to use on her false eyelashes.
