Welcome back, Bev!I thought you’d be gone longer, so I wasn’t prepared. I’m about to take my long morning nap as well… but come by later for coffee and I’ll make us some strawberry shortcake!

X… I really think it’s his latest issue of “Flashy,” through which he lives vicariously.

While he;s mentally sizing up his chances with Katie, now that she’s finally come to her senses and left Tom….and of course wondering how he’d be as a father to a 5-year-old…Mildred is sizing up … his … um…. his chances with HER…which are on the small side…..which makes his actual chances with Katie just about nil.

But we knew that.

At least she needs two hands to demonstrate how big something is.

A Thai woman I know once pointed to her husband (in mixed company) and held her hand with thumb and forefinger half an inch apart. He noticed and quipped, “Only with you”.

Looks like Mildred is trying to frame Gene for something.Welcome back Bev.

Stel…. um…. I already posted my opinion that it’s not a wig, but a cheap dye job from the mall…and Ballard St.denizens seem to change life stories every day…OR…. I called her “Mildred” cos a) Marg did, and b) She looks like a Mildred, which probably inspired “a).”But maybe she’s actually Marcia.Don’t be surprised, though, if there seems to be an identical Marcia with a husband other than Gene.Or a Florence who looks just like Marcia and Mildred…. maybe even with a husband named Gene.A lot goes on beneath the seemingly unruffled surface of Ballard St.I think Jerry never dreamed we’d pay so much attention to the secret lives of his characters…. er… I mean…. of the people who live on Ballard St.

but I accepted his invitation first, so we’ll see.

As for the “songs,” glad you like ‘em, but they’re unfinished… just doodling around..

in fact the first bit is just a few words I improvised to go with what Monkey started,and he probably has his own words in mind….

The second was just a quick lyric for him to mess with….I write words…. lotsa words…but not music…. and I can’t sing.Well…. I do.. sing, but not if anyone can hear me. LOL

Bev (again) Derrick posted it here himself.Looking forward to the shower…. preferably not this Monday or the next one…. and Wednesday is the 4th of July a big event on Ballard St….we’ll have to be running TWO booths to raise money for both the MonkeyBlues for Sheriff campaign and the Find Essex60 Mission.

Maybe next Friday?Is that too far off?Tomorrow (Sunday) is probably too soon for you, and Tuesday we’ll be planning Wednesday….Thursday we’ll be pooped….

But a baby shower would be a welcome break!

I was just about to post to Bev (if she’s still up, cos it seems like Stel went to bed) that if we want the guys to come, we shouldn’t make the whole affair too pinky-poo frou-frou and all…I’m NOT saying we have to give in to totally “guy” type decor…. I know you men have your own ideas of what to do at a baby party…

but we should at least attempt a bit of a unisex look, even though it has to have SOME pink for a baby girl!
