Hey RED, you must be working still. I’m finishing up my final nightcap of Oban while listening to Herbie Hancock and Corinne Bailey Rae with her singing " River " from the River: The Joni Letters ( 2007 ) CD. Just the right soft ending for a long day.
Oops…. first I was posting too late on yesterday… didn’t even realise it was after 11….Then I got a phone call and didn’t get a chance to come here…
So now I’m waiting for Ballard Movers and Shaker Furniture to help me move a couple of comments over to today…It’s hard to pack up the formatting and put in down in a new place…
especially after the Singapore Slings and banana s’mores.
Oh heck… I think I’ll just leave ’em there.
Hey guys, I want to cancel the move, OK?Sorry for the late notice, but I know you have enough to do with all that stuff for Stormy.
Glad Bev saw the lighthouse explanation anyway, and Essex saw the post about the Hawks….
Essex, I agree. Prettiest ride ever, the Hawk, and I’d rather have a ‘57 Silver than another year’s Golden. In fact there was a beautiful red Silver Hawk that was almost my 1st pick…. till I realised I was just enchanted by the color, when other cars closer to my dream were right there.
I sure hope that red stuff is Gary’s underwear, Otherwise, his little cat and dog game is kinda dangerous.I don’t want to think Luther’s getting any actual Gary in his diet.
Remember those signs they sell.“My German Shephard can reach the fence in 2.8 seconds. How fast can you make it?”Gotta admire his trying to beat the dog to the dining room.I have a great video from some years back. It is a Malinois attack dog clearing the roof of a car at full speed to slam the bad guy on the other side. Not the hood the roof! Never even touched the roof in clearing it. I think it was a German video and was done back late 90’s early 2000’s. Most amazing thing I’ve seen our animal companions do.
I think Gary needs a reinforced seat on his pants, since Luther seems to be zeroing in on that target. And, it just so happens that StelBel’s WWOI (Wonderful World of Inflatables) and Costume Annex is having a 42% off sale this week-end! And…it’s also BOGO at the Costume Annex !
Gary, we’ve got re-inforced seats in our costumes!
I just wanted to tell you that I really enjoyed the Nanner S’mores and Singapore Slings last night…in fact, I didn’t realize how much I was enjoying everything until this morning! Looking at my newest Rooster Costume that I wore last night, and noticing that the front of it is covered with mashed banana, chocolate and marshmallow with crumbs embedded in the whole mess!
Thankfully , Ballard St. has the very best dry cleaners in the country: Ballard St. Orthopedic Clinic and Dry Cleaners ! I strongly recommend them for all your orthopedic and cleaning needs! (They did a great job replacing my left knee back in ‘08 and they put the most razor-sharp creases in clothes that I’ve ever seen!)
I’m so sorry that you misunderstood… StelBel and Mel O’Dell Realtyonly handles real estate that is historically protected. In other words, the purchaser cannot make changes to structures on the property that will alter the appearance of said structures. (Of course, repairs to maintain the structural integrity of the buildings are allowed, but everything must be reviewed by the Ballard Historical and Architectural Commission.)
In the case of the Over Under Sideways Down house, not only is it protected historically, but also the architect/owner has mandated that no changes may be made to the house. It is meant to be upside down!
If you are still interested, Mel will present to you all pertinent information concerning the house and the asking price on Monday. Our office will be closing at noon today and will be closed throughout the weekend in observance of St. Andrew’s Day .
Pssssst, is it safe to come out yet? Yesterday the Sheriff wanted to ask me questions. I hate questions! I get so confused. YES! No! Only once, just for kicks! I hid. I don’t want nobody to know that I used to be a nightclub owner who catered to the mob………………………………………..oops.
Theres been alot of animal costumes lately, has a new shop opened on Ballard Street? Newton’s Psychologist and Costume Shop? Doing a little role playing and extra business on the side
@Stel , Happy St Andrews Day to you too. Our local newscasters were wearing some rented kilts today and I may be able to contact my new SIL (a Scot) to ask whether I will see him in his during Christmas week when I visit them. That white party back in July was at their house.
Hey Ballardeers, just checking in. Supposed to be working on something but I’ll be on my favorite stool ( the one with my name on the plaque at the back ) tonight . I know Red’s working but between Monkey Blues and myself we’ll make sure there’s some cool jazz and even cooler drinks at the Tiki tonight.
“Theres been alot of animal costumes lately, has a new shop opened on Ballard Street? Newton’s Psychologist and Costume Shop? Doing a little role playing and extra business on the side”++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++Animal costumes have been a recurring theme here, both on the strip itself and, of course, in the comments, for quite a while. When we remember to observe Whimsical Wednesdays (sometimes a little too much imbibing on Tuesday nights make us forget what day it is!), whimsical costumes including, but not limited to, animal costumes are preferred. My own two favorites are my Cow Costume and of course, my Rooster one.
At my store, StelBel’s WWOI (Wonderful World of Inflatables), the Costume Annex was opened last spring. We do have the best quality costumes around. Newton’sPsychological Services and Costume Shop , which opened just recently, has nowhere near the variety of costumes that we have, nor do they provide the custom costume services that we do. But you cannot get better psychology services in Ballard County! They’ve helped me on more than one occasion!
Raining raining raining….I know (to steal a line) it’s programming flowers and keeping snails happy…And with all the drought elsewhere and all the flooding where too MUCH rain happened…I haven’t a THING to complain about….But Stel…. I need a cute inflatable animal costume/life preserver…. just in case!
Something in a rabbit, or a monkey, or maybe, I don’t know…. a sheep?
As I have mentioned, unless the ground gets enough rain for my plastic stakes I will have no Holiday lights this season- just as well, as I will not be home. My lover Skyped today and was asking why I can’t move my flight up a few weeks as the weather there is “so nice” (highs there are lower than Phoenix low) and my front door was open with just the screen when he called. I told him I don’t want to bother my son to change it (his milage paid my fare). I just hope the weather cooperates and give us lots of time together, but I have other plans for upcoming years.
oh how pretty…Susan does such a marvelous job with such limited customers accoutrements. Just look at these toes!! Purple glitter against white is such a marvelous combination, in my humble opinion….and look at these nails, she put a pretty kitty on each nail except the little one, and its a tail that seems connected to the ring fingers kitty. Awesome job Susan, I am just so tickled!!! And my hair feels right besides looking good! As you know some haircuts just dont look or feel right, and I didnt even have to look at this one, I can feel it working it. Wtg Susan and thank you very much! I left a big tip for you at the Tiki…unlimited bar tab until midnight. Thank you again!
(Well, I’m signing off for a couple of days, since I’m going to have some oral surgery tomorrow morning to correct the damage I did when I fell flat on my face last spring. Keep the partying down to a dull roar this weekend, OK? Some of us have some recuperatin’ to do!! lol)
and what is the poipose of these guys?…j/k….deys cutie pies…personally, I would like a little red outfit with white fur trimming…I already have the white hair and red shoes…it doesnt have to inflate, just be cute enough to take cookies to Ms. Dales elementary class over at the B.S. Elementary and Psychic Center…who foresaw this btw…
My lover is worried I may be bored during part of my 5 weeks there, but I will spend a little time with the kids (who I ignored mostly in July because. . .;-D). Subsequent years I hope to get him back here so he may even find other things to do in retirement (like SCA with me).
I messaged my Scot son in law on Skype about seeing him in kilts during Christmas trip. My Grand-dad had his Columbus Park lawn bowlers who regularly wore theirs back when I was a kid.
Friday night at the Tiki Bar! People-watching here is the best show in town…And besides, I gotta run the big grinder for a while… Monkey’s got a gig….Hiya Linguist… Pcolli…. Don’t suppose you guys want a banana daiquiri to go with that tequila…Who else is here?Bev …. did you leave?I’m glad you and Linda like your nails. And thanks for the tip, Linda.
You know, I never used to DO nails…. still don’t like to do acrylics, some gels…or powdered hair bleach. Bad chemicals, all, that give me respiratory problems.
I meant to post a picture of that polish yesterday, Bev… I was afraid the green wasn’t sage-y enough, or that you didn’t mean the same thing I did by magnetic polish. But it’s pretty and I’m glad it was OK:
I was also a bit surprised you wanted green nails…. but I shouldn’t be surprised by anything after all this time on Ballard Street.OK…. a toast to tomorrow’s comics!

Seems to me like Luther’s taken the bite out of crime a couple of previous times but Gary always did have a masochistic streak ….
