Ed…. from the look in Buster’s eye, I’d say they’ll see plenty of fish…..In fact, they’ll be surrounded by fish…..when they’re sleeping with them.

Why are Ballard Street collections all in black & white? Spent a fair amount of money to have the strips in one place, only to discover NO COLOR between the book covers. Disappointing. :(

Years ago and unbeknownst to most Ballard fans; Buster had a rather unfortunate incident with a dead fish. As with many oral traditions, some is lost and some make have been slightly embellished. Anyway, Trooper told Scooter and Scooter told Reggie and Rusty Boy that Ms Millie had seen Buster licking the eye of a dead fish when Buster was just a pup. Personally, the independent research I conducted could not confirm this actually happened, but there is something a miss and Buster clearly has secrets which may have been embarrassing if not painful. Given the source and knowing Trooper has some issues of his own I question the accuracy of this retelling, on the other hand Buster and Ms Millie had a round of puppy love which left Ms Millie invigorated in a whimsical kinda way and Buster came away some what depressed. It’s a dog’s life on Ballard Street. Stan and Ted are clearly enjoying the moment, Buster not so much

The above picture of Buster with Stan and Ted was taken just prior to Deputy Batpug issuing the aging anglers citations, for littering and drinking alcoholic beverages in a public place, fishing in a city park, and fishing without a valid license.The expression on Buster’s face certainly changed, to a smirk, after that.
