That is why no one on Ballard St. will invite them to dinner anymore.

I don’t know about the Staceys, but I go to restaurants for their food, not to sit and stare at a booth.

Those little sugar packets are great for table football, or soccer.

They spent good (amount of) money to have a good (amount of) meal and a good (amount of) time.

I have relatives in the restaurant business. “Killing time” after a meal is only reasonable for ten minutes or so. After that, you may be preventing the restaurant from serving another pair of meals to another customer. I’m talking about small, bargain restaurants. If you’re paying a hundred dollars for a couple of meals, you can stay until closing time. :)

Crazy Cat Cousin and I go right after most of the business people leave, then we yack for over an hour while we eat. Since the place is almost empty, they don’t mind. We tip really well, too. And we don’t make a mess.

I hope they leave a big enough tip to compensate their server for taking the table out of circulation.

The servers wish they would get more out of their experience away from the restaurant.
