Dottie keeps a close eye on him. She doesn’t want to revisit the Lawn Darts

Dottie doesn’t fancy the games he’s been playing over in the widow Higgenbecker’s backyard.

/// His new lawn game’s a bit like croquet,

but no mallet, thus harder to play.

Leland’s wingtips he’d use

in the place of horseshoes,

but those cones merely got in the way.

He may be a bust at lawn games, but those cardboard inserts sure are sharp.

The pointy of darts?

Problematic

Yet often enough quite emphatic

With “Get off of my lawn”

And “So’s your old mawn”

Few Shakescenes could be half so dramatic

Reminds me of my Mother’s retirement home where the residents played balloon soccer in the rect room. Eventually she got red carded. Too many cleats up tackles.

Well, the “excelcis Deo” thing bombed. I lost the internet connection several times yesterday. But maybe the line was a loser anyway.

Leland lives for the glorious day/

His idea replaces croquet-/

But he’s growing withdrawn/

Because, lacking a lawn/

Leland can’t find a place to play.

It’s definitely a fancy.

The Challenge just seems to be cursed,

’cause nothing goes right after first.

But hold it right there, and just to be fair,

if ChessPirate had joined, it’d be worst!
