One thing one also seldom sees is typewriters.

    Dammit, I feel sooooo old!

I took computer classes when a Computer Degree meant you could program in COBOL, MS/Dos 2.1 operating system. And yes, not only do I remember FAX machines, but rotary dial phones and manual typewriters.

I remember the computer guys carrying around those boxes of punch cards and wondering what would happen if they dropped one. -——————————————Still, the cards made good bookmarks.

There’s a printer/scanner/copier/fax machine in our house at the moment. I asked my dad once about the fax machine part, and asked if the world even really still needed fax machines. But apparently, they are still used from time to time on the business front. To be sure, though, they’re slowly dying out. But they still have uses in the meantime.

If you have one, you can hook it up to your land line so that when anyone calls they can hear it being answered.

Years ago I was working with a young woman in her twenties. We got to talking and I mentioned something about the ‘60s. She said, "Wow! You’re from the ’60s?!!" I felt like that mosquito in amber in “Jurassic Park.”

As I see it, every doctors office, laboratory, hospital and most drug stores in the state of Florida seems to have a FAX machine..

We bought one on sale at Staples for $15.95 some years ago.

That thing has been unbelievably useful since.

Some people and businesses still prefer fax documents rather than email for some reason.
