We buy our maple syrup directly from the sap house. In the Spring we cross into Canada and visit a family operation to buy a years supply of the “good stuff”.
We have bought “real” maple syrup from time to time, and it is very good. Unfortunately, it has a very short shelf life unless it is kept refrigerated, so unless you like “cold” syrup on your pancakes or waffles, I’d stick with the imitation stuff…

I don’t eat syrup of any kind. Then again, I don’t eat pancakes or waffles. Toast with jam or hazelnut spread, please.
