Here’s the comment I posted on Get Fuzzy today: No Child Left Behind…….Why kids don’t have to learn anything they don’t want to learn and why they can’t be disciplined. Technically, teachers are now babysitters.
The point is that Cynthia is very smart. So instead of just doing the work, she wants to see if she can change the teachers. Not going to happen, though. But she also wants to be a rebel and the CEO of America. Only a human can stack all those contradictions into one head.
Children should go at their own speed. The fast ones are out of there before they het 15, while the others figure out they have nothing to lose by learning the work and graduate at 18-20. Our society does not function that way, unfortunately.
