I’ve always had a problem with people who choose their own nickname.
Including my own.
So just calling yourself a “Maverick” doesn’t really make you one. Hmmmmm.

In “Good As Gold” Joseph Heller (“Catch-22”) definitively states that NO ONE can give himself a nickname - one character in the book tries to do it. It went kind for him kind of like it did for Lucasclone here - NOWHERE!
