Never allow lack of laughter to discourage you. I find that many jokes are appreciated on a visceral level. Then when out of my presence the dolt to whom I told the joke presumably laughs and appreciates the humor. But do I let that stop me? No way.
When I told people that I was going to be a stand up comic, everyone just laughed at me. But when I actually became a stand up comic…..well…..Nobody laughs at me now.
I remember being disappointed at the humor of “The Pink Panther” (the first one). It finally got a laugh out of me…and then the characters took a moment to laugh too, which reduced the effect.
