… caught in the middle with you.. I thought Hart was religous and did not believe in evolution and transition species.

If the teaching of evolution is outlawed, only the outlaws will evolve.

Religion aside, the “theory” of evolution and that’s all it is “a theory,” flies in the face of the second law of thermodynamics which basically states that the universe is transitioning from a state of order to a state of disorder. Sometimes called entropy.

My belief is that evolution is a tool God used. Time has no meaning to Him. The six day thing was used so technologically primitive people could relate. Six days? Why not 600 million years?

Travis, if God “created” then it’s illogical to use a tool – why not just make things as He wanted them. As for the time frame, read the the Book – evening and morning was the 6th day – that’s pretty clear the days of creation were normal solar days. If you hold to a “day-age” theory, I fell sorry for the plants made on day 3 because the sun didn’t appear until day 4

Evolution has 3 pillars for support: Fossils, comparative anatomy, and genetics. The evidence is overwhelmingly convincing. Religion has faith and only faith. Religions have abounded in sheer numbers, and with huge differences, which illustrates the true value of faith for determining reality. Faith is essentially useless for elucidating reality. In short the concept of some big eye in the sky is truly ridiculous.

Learning science from religion is like learning grammar from poetry.

Russell, do you really want to insult the intelligence of all people who believe in God? Maybe God directed evolution.

Did you ever read “Evidence that demands a verdict?” It was written by a person who was determined to prove the Bible wrong. He did a huge amount of research and based on that research, realized he was wrong. Have you done that kind of research?

I know I’m not going to convince anyone here that believes in evolution that they are wrong. I will just state that I have read up quite extensively on the subject, and the idea of evolution takes too huge a leap of faith for me to accept it. Those who say “the fossils prove it” are almost always parroting the uninformed opinions of others rather than having looked up all the evidence for and/or against. I suggest looking at materials from the Creation Research Society, among other groups of credentialled scientists who believe that the Biblical account more exactly fits what we see than do the “just so” stories of the evolutionists.

    Creationism: bad science; bad religion.
