My sister’s in-laws live Cheektowaga, Lancaster and West Seneca, the hardest hit areas during “Snovember.” They averaged six feet. I live in north Buffalo, the lightest hit area. We got six inches.
TaxMan, since you’re dragging in politics (Why?) let me explain a simple weather fact that has nothing to do with left or right. The jet stream seems to be shifting a bit and that brings in weather changes. If global warming is causing the jet stream to change its pattern, then yeah, the cold weather is caused by global warming. Another weather fact. Warmer weather means more moisture evaporates from the oceans and is available to create rain and snow.
“Everyone but the hard core right-wingers know that what we are experiencing is Climate Change and yes the Global temperature is rising.”.I don’t acutally KNOW it to be Climate Change. I strongly suspect it is possible. I believe those who worked out that the atmospheric changes will change the climate are sincere and smart and likely right, but I don’t know all of them and haven’t checked their calculations, so some demand for proof is in order..I noticed recently that the effect of clouds at different altitudes isn’t actually known at this point. Studies are being made and nobody expects big differences in resuls, but such things can have a big effect one way or the other, by offsetting the tendency to put more moisture in the air or by trapping even more thermal energy..Anyone who simply KNOWS is doing so on faith, not facts.

See? It’s not climate change, just history repeating itself.

We are “freezing” here in Fort Myers, Florida . . . daily temps in the 60s with night time temps in the 40s and 30s. We do not have snow . . . yet.

It’s said that it’s not nice to fool Mother Nature; but that don’t mean she can’t put a huge one over on you.
