The DMV made me remove my glasses before taking my picture for my drivers license. Now cops and bartenders don’t believe that the person in the picture and me are the same. Maybe I should do the same with my license and add specs!
That last line — and what a great one — made me think of what Florence King once observed about Sylvia Plath: Instead of writing about what she did, she did what she wanted to write about, adding that truly creative people don’t operate this way. I wouldn’t say that Beardo does, either, so I’ll just put this impending misadventure down to a temporary aberration.
