art is such a fraud…… if a grade school kid just threw paint up against the canvas randomly and was labeled as a genuine ‘pollock’ then it would be worth millions. i suspect if a gallery held a mixture of unsigned works of established geniuses and unsigned works of undiscovered ,but talented artists, most folks would not be able to consistently pick out the million dollar paintings from the hundred dollar paintings.there, I’ve had my rant
Personally, I think “Modern Art” is a trap. If you say you don’t like it, you are labeled a Philistine, and if you say you DO like it, the artist is snickering up his sleeve, because you fell for hislittle joke.
