Nothing wrong with reading Harry Potter! At least he’s reading. Betty seems very hard to please. If my husband were to pick up a book (any book) and start reading I would faint! Heck, I’d be happy even if it was a romance novel.
Harry Potter is good reading. J K Rowling’s use of language is excellent, and there is some wicked humour in her stories. Sure, you gotta suspend disbelief, but that is true for a lot of stories.
