This is why I always wanted a daughter, I had four boys then finally two daughters. Out of the four boys, only one really cooks. My oldest daughter (14) cooks simple meals now, the youngest (10) mostly stirs.

Isn’t that kinda gross? We compost too, but as I’m peeling/slicing, I’ll deposit my refuse directly into the compost bin. The last thing I want to see as I’m preparing to digest food is the parts of the food that aren’t digestible marinating on the counter.
My grandmother had a plastic triangle shaped “bowl” with holes on the bottom she’d put into the sink while peeling potatoes and the like. Any liquid would drain out and the relatively dry peels could go into the garbage without weakening the paper bag she usually had. No garbage disposal or compost pile. I really want one of those “bowls” myself!

We compost just about everything that’s not recyclable. I put the scraps in the blender, add a bit of water, and pour the slurry over the flower bed.

What happened to the credit card story? That could not have been the end, could it?
