Today music is almost everywhere one goes. Bad music is like a bad smell, it is invasive and unavoidable. Even good music can be annoying if it is unwanted at that moment. I enjoy good music of all genres, but I get annoyed if good or bad music is imposed on me.
It’s cool the characters are trying new “jams”. Not complaining thinking only there generation had good” music. I have found great music (at least for my ears) in all generations. New and old.

I like music (and other art) if it moves me, if it bothers me, I don’t. I like many genre of arts. If I have to learn to like it, why bother?

Good music can be personal, and it can be social. Bad music is just that, and usually made by people trying to copy someone else’s talent.
