I’m with Bub on this — especially regarding shopping for clothes. Every year, or so, I binge-shop for clothes. That requires entering an altered state-of-consciousness — almost a dissociative state. I do the actual shopping in a frenzy — like I’m a Viking on a raid — so that I can get it over with as fast as possible, and move on to something more enjoyable. Like a root canal.
