I believe TV news is more responsible than astronomers are for popularizing the term ‘super moon.”
What with their “science” and “facts” and all, they are a bunch of hyper bullies!
This astronomy conversation is not on a hyperbolic trajectory.
It’s still in disguise. The cape will come out later.
Look, anything that moves oceans qualifies as Super in my book.
This a month or two behind. The “super moon” was when the moon 7 earth’s orbits were closest they get for the year, making the moon appear larger.
Sun rise on 10 June will be an annular (“ring”) solar eclipse. 05:30ish here in the East.
The “moon” events are basically non-starters. It is virtually impossible to distinguish a supermoon from any other moon with the naked eye. It’s not the astronomers prone to hyperbole, it’s newspapers trying to fill space.
