I find impressionism is like valium, good for the moment but not a long term solution. I prefer the bold colors of van Gogh, unconstrained by any school of art.
My first class in art history, the teacher puts a slide up asking the class what they see.. then tries to shame us all for not stating the most obvious, it was of a nude. So-o-o-, that’s why I preferred my other profs. Not necessarily the question but her smug tone. We were all looking past that lady, or I was. As an adult student, same age as the prof, I wasn’t impressed.

I loved the area. Rural, tranquil. Everything that Paris is not.
