My husband and I were a good team. He took things apart and fixed them, then I reassembled them. He didn’t do jigsaws as a child, and I was too much of a coward to take things apart.
Once, returning from a deployment, I found that my wife had replaced the whole kitchen faucet assembly. The old one had leaked and she didn’t like it anyway. Not had it replaced, did it herself.

If not the washer, replace the valve.

I had a drippy faucet so I replaced the washer. That didn’t help, so I replaced the dryer too.
