Why do they want US for their Thanksgiving feast? turkey: I don't know, but keep your head down! As long as the're roaming the woods with their guns, NONE of us is safe! Let's just lie low until this cursed Thanksgiving is OVER! turkey: Yeah...you're right. More corn? turkey: Nah. I'm stuffed.
Writing ‘note: ironic foreshadowing’ sort of killed it for me. The reader should be able to figure that one out for themselves.
