Big Nate by Lincoln Peirce for August 15, 2001
Transcript:
"Er...Dad, can I go meet a friend at the mall?" "I suppose so...Which friend?" "Um...You don't know them." "Nate, 'them' is not grammatically correct in this case." "You would say either 'You don't know HIM' or 'You don't know HER'." "Right. Thanks, Dad. Well, I'm off." "What's her name?"
What if the friend is non binary though, Mr Wright, and goes by they/them pronouns? Got to be inclusive here.
