Looks like you didn't get a hundred on the final, Einstein! A 99? Mrs. Godfrey, why did I get a 99 on the final? I got everything right! You didn't write your name in the space provided. That's an automatic one-point deduction. Oh, how I hate her. Want to see what a real hundred looks like?
Because the strip is funnier if Mrs. Godfrey is an extreme personality. If she were a reasonable person, it would be a lot tougher to write good gags. I always tell people: remember, it’s a comic strip. The different personalities on display, whether Mrs. Godfrey, Nate, Artur, Gina, etc., are exaggerated. That’s why Mrs. Godfrey is so horrible.
