Gee, Charlie Brown’s face used to do that (mouth & both eyes completely horizontal slits) when someone/thing completely perplexed and/or frustrated him. Nice fourth-panel finish!! Haw! HAW!!

Funny, Nate’s dad does the same expression as Nate does in the 4th panel. Actually a lot of cartoon characters do that.

I saw this very strip in one of the books. Nate can be pretty harsh.
