All boys at that age are immature. At least with Nate, she has somebody that really appreciates her.

So much for a May / June romance.

Nate is 11, she is more likely to be 12. Not that it makes a whole lot of difference in the maturity department compared to Nate. But I´d imagine it is hard to make realistic characters that doesn´t have more than an ounce of “adult” character in them for a comic. Also consider the comic is marked for the 7-12 years old – U.S. – marked (if going by the books :)) you probably shouldn´t expect much further than what they are doing now, if thats your thoughts. Think there have been 2 strips on this site, besides a couple relating his older sister, that involved things relating more mature stuff – one where he said he was focused on violent comics because he wasn´t old enough to be focused on sex yet, and one with Kelly (or Angie) and him thinking about her undressing in a nearby booth. Rest is as said about his father being nervious about Nate´s sister getting older.

Leave Nate alone guys!

Lincoln, by any chance, is the next Big Nate book in the making? ;) I can’t wait till I see Trudy in the book :)

She is in the seventh grade; 7+6 is 13. I asked if it weren’t time for some subtle figure changes, but see it has been censored. Maybe I have run afoul of the dreaded kangaroo court which doesn’t even notify you have been banned, much less have a due process to get you reinstated. .Anyway, “real time” strips have handled the puberty transition quite tastefully. One adopted wearing an open vest to hide that part (and now an adult, still favors that costume). It can be done without offense or censorship.
