Big Nate by Lincoln Peirce for March 09, 2016
Transcript:
How come you don't like comics, Mrs. Czerwicki? How come you do? Because they're funny! A lot funnier than this romance novel of yours! "Claudia didn't know which was pounding harder: the tropical szurf or her heart. Lance, the ruggedly handsome lion tamer, had always been her catnip. She gazed into his magnetic green eyes, which burned like two tennis balls beneath his auburn unibrow. Oh, how she'd missed him during the years he'd spent in the Congo, perfecting his perilous craft with the help of a pygmy Cat Whisperer." I take it back. This is hilarious. I think it's time for you to bond with your desk.

Nate, do not even think about turning that romance novel into a graphic novel.

@bignateHi Mr. Peirce. I recently read Big Nate Blasts Off, and I just wanted to thank you for writing such a fun, appealing series. Blasts Off is definitely a satisfying conclusion to the series. If you don’t mind, I also have a question about the character of Breckenridge. Despite having a major appearance in the seventh book, Breckenridge only appears in a drawing in Blasts Off and in a previous comment, you said Breckenridge would not come over to the comic strip. Is there any particular reason why? Thank you.

That’s amusing, I’ve used “The Catwhisperer” as a screen name.

Many of the romance novels describe things a bit too much.

I’ve recently read a Paulo Coelho novel to test my maturity boundaries. I won’t say which one so you wouldn’t judge..
