The following in copy and pasted from Lincoln Pierce: The End!This is it! The end of the road.
It’s been six years since the first Big Nate novel was published, and for nearly that long, I’ve been writing these twice-weekly blog entries. Today’s edition will be briefer than most. The best goodbyes are short and sweet.
I will admit to a few moments of frustration when, on the occasional Monday or Thursday during the last six years, I suddenly realized that it was nearly midnight and I hadn’t yet started my blog entry. But those moments have been few and far between. The vast majority of the time, I’ve thoroughly enjoyed writing this blog. I’ve focused most frequently on Big Nate, of course, but it’s been a kick to write about other things, too: sports, movies, favorite books from my childhood, Christmas TV specials, candy, poetry, and so on. And although today marks a farewell to this particular forum, it’s not the end of my blog-writing. In the not-too-distant future, I’ll begin a weekly blog over at gocomics.com, where new Big Nate strips will continue to appear for as long as I’m able to hold a pen. The new blog will deal more exclusively with cartooning and comics-related themes, but I’m sure I’ll still sneak in the occasional reference to the Boston Red Sox. Or Charlotte’s Web. Or Cheez Doodles.
