BIG NATE AND THE BET: Part 31

Dee Dee took the broom from Nate and started working on the rest of the mess. While she did so, Nate went into the living room, pulled out his cell phone, and dialed a number. “Hi, I would like to place an order for a large pizza…” After completing the order, Nate walked back into the kitchen. Dee Dee was just about finished with the rest of the foam.

Nate whistled. “That was easier than I thought it would be.” “Well, what now?” Dee Dee asked. “I ordered us a pizza while you were cleaning.” Nate said. “It should be here shortly.” “Well, in the meantime, we can both clean up the grease on the window.” Dee Dee said. They approached the window with rags and soapy water in a bucket.

They both started cleaning the window, and soon it was finished in no time flat. Then the doorbell rang. “Pizza time!” someone called out from behind the door. Nate answered it and picked up the pizza. Dee Dee tipped the delivery boy and they set the box down. “How did you pay for this?” Dee Dee asked. “I used my dad’s credit card. He always keeps it out in the open. I simply memorized the number.” “This coming from the guy who thought Africa was in Europe.” Dee Dee said with an eyeroll.

“Shall we watch a movie?” Nate said as he got out the pizza cutter. “Yeah!” Dee Dee said in response. Nate began cutting the pizza, as he replied, “As long as I pick.” “Fine by me.” Dee Dee said. Soon, they were in the living room eating pizza and watching the Sonic movie. “Man, I love this movie.” Nate said. “And its even better watching it with Dee Dee.” he thought.

Big Nate. Rock’n’roll, baby! – Part 5

“Woah, Nate, you rocked at social studies!”, Francis noticed. “What made you to concetrate?”

I snatched a pack Cheez Doodles from Coco and started eating.

“Oh, I see”.

“Anyway, you were right, guys”, I said. “I DO have a crush on Gina”.

“Ha! Told you so!”, Teddy replied.

“Laugh as much, as you can”, I rolled my eyes.

“Shoot!”, Coco exclaimed. “I have to go on the dance club! See ya!”

“Crud, we almost about our band practice!”, Francis shouted out.

“Oh, right! Who’s our singer?”, I asked.

“Dee Dee picked someone”.

For curious ones, we asked Dee Dee, to be our manager. Every band has its own manager, right? Since Artur quit the band, we let her to pick the singer.

We all met at ballet hall, near the dance practice. That’s, where other contest participants from P.S 38 were practicing. We saw Dee Dee with Chad.

“What’s Chad is doing here?”, I asked her.

“He’s gonna be your singer, guys”, she answered.

“Okay, Chad, what music do you like?”, Teddy asked.

“Something like this”, Chad replied and hit play. We could hear from the loudspeaker the music:

“Don’t you worry, don’t you worry, child, see, heavens got a plan for you…,”

“Oh”, Francis told. “We can make make something between rock and dance”.

Chad and Francis started searching music on the web. I was heading toward toilet. But in another room nearby, I saw someone familiar…
