This happens to me all the time, except I am awake when I think these brilliant thoughts.

Well, I assume they were brilliant, I don’t remember anymore.

I wake up with great ideas to. Unfortunately, she’s already asleep.

Welcome to another Big Top day. What nefarious adventures should we get into today bmonk and johnnydoc?

Well, I would like to start by cracking your code for the email thing mentioned in yesterday’s comments, but it was over my head.

Good morning, guys! Sunday brunch today, ham and eggs, grits and gravy, bagels and lox with cream cheese, freshly baked cinnamon rolls, juice, and of course, coffee.

You know Johnnydoc. Everytime I tried to explain it, I would be hindered by the da@n comment box. It hasn’t happened to me before, but I would try to explain myself and every time I would reach the confines of this small rectangular comment box, it would freeze up and I couldn’t scroll down to allow myself more room for explanation. So, I tried to cram it all into to small a space. Sorry.

Boy margueritem, you’ve got my attention. Suddenly, my taste buds are exploding with anticipation.

doctortoon, do you keep your cartoons in scrapbooks? Do you try to preserve them in an archival way and how would you do that with a newspaper, which yellows quickly?

I have always been fascinated with the comics as well. When I was growing up in North Dakota, each Sunday we would get the New York Daily News. The newspaper itself was like an extreme National Enquirer, with only the most offensive stories. But they had a wonderful magazine section that I was forever gleaning for ideas for school projects. Their cartoon section though, was the crown jewel of the paper. They were a large multi-page “book” of strip upon strip and page upon page array of beautifully colored strips. It would take me at least an hour to peruse the paper and it was an hour of pure excitement.

Great toon today, I hate it when my fabulous dreams go pffttttt! . Morning all, I’ve had a busy schedule last few days and not enough time to play CyberSurf. Still have some cold Super Supreme pizza for those that want any.

And once again the world is saved!

Great day here. We got almost a 1/2” rain last night and woke to sunshine. My wife’s son spent the night here, but heads up to Alaska tomorrow on a commercial fishing boat. So, my wife is thrilled for the quick visit.

Doc, I forget you Westerners are in an earlier time zone. It’s 77 and partly cloudy here. We may get some rain tomorrow and/or on Tuesday.

Thanks but I’ll pass on the coffee. I’m more of a hot cocoa man. My fav is 50-50 mix of regular and dark hot chocolate, with a scoop of French vanilla ice cream in it.

I’ve got the batter(?) for my ice cream cooling in the fridge so I’ll put into into the ice cream maker later tonight - Buttermilk Fudge, so save room for desert.

@cleokaya, you say grew up in NoDak; may I ask where? I’m in Stark County myself, where my dad grew up. Mom was a Minnesotan, but they are still pretty good, you betcha!

The ice cream didn’t taste as sweet as I thought it should, but it’s in the freezer now, so maybe that will help.

bmonk, I lived in Walhalla from birth through the first grade. I then moved to Minot and lived there until my junior year of high school when we moved out here to WA. I have relatives in the little town of Egeland, if you know where that is (maybe about 35 minutes from Devil’s Lake).

It’s funny, as a kid I couldn’t wait to get away from ND, but everytime I return I get enthralled by the lack of people, the big skies, the friendliness of people and the abundance of wildlife and waterfowl.

I agree with JFri. cleo came up with the idea, but I don’t see anyone changing their name to give us a new email address.

I guess the only thing I was concerned about with creating maintaining an email address list is a way to verify that people who are sending into there are really part of the group.

If someone knows a way to do that, I’ll be happy to create and maintain the list.

I guess not knowing you, Abe, and not knowing the domain, is not leaving me with a warm fuzzy. Sorry.

I just came up with what I believe is an easy way to exchange emails. One person of our group sets up a hotmail account. The person who sets up the account is the only one who knows the password. This person would post the email address here at Big Top. Anybody from gocomics could send an email to this address depositing their email address and stating whom they want to make it available to. Lets say JFri, leaves his email address and wants it made availabe to Dry. The keeper notifies Dry that he has JFri

Since I came up with the idea of creating the dummy account, I will run it. I already created one on yahoo.

email address. Dry contacts keeper and leaves her email. Keeper sends an email to both with each others’s address and passes it on to no one else. The keeper is someone we all believe we can trust. This service could be provided to anyone and your email would not be released until keeper contacted you here on gocomics to be sure the email address has actually been provided by sender. Is this understood or confusing?

It would work, But I am Ravensinger, Bwahahahahaha!

My main concern is having fakers coming to yahoo pretending they are someone else.

I’m good with carmy (sorry, I thought cleo came up with the idea, I got my c-names mixed up). I do like cleo’s idea of tagging the next person to join.

I just re-read cleo’s idea, and I think it will work. It will just take some organization to keep track of who is allowed to see who’s email address.

If we use the account carmy set-up, that would be the only person with a list of everyone’s email address.

I really think this could work.

It’s getting late for me, but I just have one more comment about the e-mails. How about we give everyone a chance to catch up and think about it, and leave the final decision to next weekend. If we still think it’s a good idea, then we move forward then. In the meantime, we got a circus to enjoy :-)

Okay, let me know if I’m understanding this. Cleo will send me his email address and tells me to pass it on to Jfri. I will come on here and ask Cleo if this is correct. He says yes, so I pass his email to Jfri. Is this correct?

Wildflowerose on pibgorn sent out a questionaire some months ago where we could include our emails. and should anyone want to email someone else, she’s the only one who has that information. It works kinda like a dating club.

carmy, you see a bizarre email address, it doesn’t matter. If Dry is donaldduck.com, you post here on gocomics. “Dry are you donaldduck.com.” She replies here on gocomics, yes carmy I am or no carmy, I am not. Her email has been verified here like we are posting right now.

Rad right now I am confused! WildflowerRose and I e-mailed twice, once for the survey and once to let me know Tallwoman was okay. Never had a problem. Just how does this work, and do you think it is a good idea? I’m going to assume you will say yes to my last question, but I want to know what you think. And I know Akenta has some doubts about this as well. Given this day and age, you can’t really blame us, you know?

Actually carmy I missed a step. You send Dry an email to her email address, then you go to gocomics and ask Dry if she received your email, if she says yes, then you know it really is hers. Sorry, I screwed the last post up, I just made this up off the top of my head. If it needs re-explaining I will go through it again.

I’m leary of practically everyone on teh internet. There is so much in the news but I’ve never had a problem except maybe being caught-up in farming email addresses on a chat site and spam. It sounds good. I never contacted wildflowerose for an email.

Dry, I understand your concerns. That is why I had questions and asked for help. Safety is the most important thing here. I wanted to make sure I understood how to keep us all safe. Now I know. I won’t divulge any info to anyone unless I am 100 percent sure that everything is on the up and up.

As small as the population of ND is, it’s funny how many at gocomics have history with the state. Maybe it is because it is small and residents reach out more for communication.

Just finished the first rhubarb pie of the season. I can’t honestly say, in my opinion, that there is a pie that I like better.

I am a chocoholic too! I like bittersweet dark chocolate. It’s funny when I met my wife. I walked her to her car after the blues festival ended at which I met her. She gave me a ride to where my car was parked. In that 5 minute ride, I discovered that she had a Tupperware container full of dark chocolate and a Tupperware container full of good licorice. I knew that I had met the girl of my dreams.

It’s funny, Big Top feels like Disneyland. Everyday we come and have fun and then the day wears down with a bit of fireworks then it peters down to nothing only to spring to life the next day with Goofy leading the pack. LOL.
