I thought I’d pop my head in here, just in case the internet goes down again. There’s a t-storm coming my way. We’re under a severe t-storm watch, but I think the severe part will stay south of me, from looking at the radar.

I won’t be on much today anyway. I’m going into the big city so I and my youngest can do some shopping. I’m also going to meet my best friend and have some face-to-face girl talk time. This evening, I’m going out with my hubby, so no search parties needed for today.

@doc, I thought it was pretty clear–the tenth commandment forbids coveting “anything” of your neighbor, but somehow the original authors failed to include TV remotes, or cars, or TVs or computers and so on.

That said, the way some people treat a remote (like watching two movies simultaneously, if not three) does not really give rise to coveting so much as an intense desire to throttle the person, which is covered in another commandment…

Rmom - It’s dry here July and August too. People think we always have rain, but our plants have to be drought tolerant because we get very little rain in the summer. We actually only get a little over 30” a year. It just gets gray and misty.

Hi everybody. I usually don’t post anywhere if I’m this late but I just wanted to let you know I’m still around. I don’t have to work tonight so I’ve been on the computer all day except when I went to the bank to get rid of a lot of my paycheck. Paying bills will do that. I’ve found myself dozing in front of the computer. Not comfortable. But I may go to bed early tonight. Or I may not. This site is sooo addictive but like many others I can quit anytime. I can. Really.

Shika - Thanks for thinking of me. My GF & I had a nice day together - too short, but it always is. Hubby & I had a nice dinner out (we’re regulars at a little Mexican restaurant), and now he’s got our youngest son out on a driving lesson.

Cleo - KS is a place of extreme weather - we average about 58F & 30” of precipitation for the year. However, instead of a near constant, it is usually one extreme or the other.

Have you ever seen the sign that says: “You never hear of a husband who was shot by his wife, while he’s washing the dishes.” My sons take turns doing the dishes, with the help of an automatic dishwasher, so they’ll at least know how when they get married. (However, I’ll be surprised if they don’t work some agreement before they get married, so they don’t have to.)

Cleo: I tried that line on Mua, but you can see it didn’t work! Men really DO do the dishes. My dad did. Of course, no one spilled the beans on my mom! “Splain away Lucy!

so my day was long. tired and sore learned that i DO NOT want a 2 story house anymore……. 3 kids and stairs was not smart. one fell down (she is fine) and i got tired of the up and down.

so chickens won today…… i HATE CHICKENS!!! WITH A PASION NOW. Was attacked several times by the stupid roster. dad just stood there and laughed and i ran out kicking him my ankles hurt again. sigh. i was also attacked by the chickens….. i hate it..

Shika - You’re right - I’m REALLY glad I’m not in the car right now! I love their tacos - they use a flour tortilla, and fry it with the meat & cheese in it (I think). But all of their dishes are delicious. It is family-owned, so we’ve got to know all the family pretty well. The prices are low enough, that we can feed the two of us for less than $20, including tip. Our sons don’t like care to eat there, so it is easy to go without them. It is a time that we can sit around and talk without the computer, the boys or the phones interrupting.

Good night Akenta Glad the taxi came quickly. Have a good sleep. I’ll be off soon too. Being an Easterner makes it too late for these parties sometimes. Especially since Cleo has to do floors now too! lol

Tabbylynn sorry to hear you were chased by the chickens. Just don’t let them know if you are afraid of them and of course don’t be late with the food. They are voracious monsters. Shikamoo love your cheer for the nuts. That is not a picture of my much missed Serena but I chose it because it could be her identical twin. I found a pic that looks exactly how my other cat did. I’ll put it up someday too.

My cousin went camping in their RV for the weekend. If they can not receive a signal for the hockey final, they will drive their motor home until they find one.
