cleo, I dive less around here and more in clear warm water. Around here the water is so cold and the visibility is so poor, it’s not as much fun. That said, I am NOT opposed to crabbing and spear fishing, especially for rock fish & ling cod!

Cleo, what is toad in the hole? I wondered where everyone went, and then I realized OMG it’s 1:30 here!

The waters up here are pretty clear. But, I understand the desire to dive in warm waters. I used to spend my winters in the Florida Keys. I still remember this young guy who was a reporter for a newspaper in New Jersey. He came down to the Keys to get certified. We spent every evening in the strip clubs. We were both working at getting certified there. LOL

I have dove all points of the Florida Keys from Largo to Key West. LOVE IT!! There is some relatively clear water up around Edmunds and in Hood Canal, especially Octopus Hole.

Hardly anybody ever said B Favre didn’t still have it. It was how he went about it(retired/not retired). He is still my favorite QB.

I still don’t like him, and was hoping that he would not have it this year. Rumor also has it that he may have hurt his shoulder, so this could end up like last year for the Jets! Having said that, Minnesota has only needed a quarterback to complete the puzzle, and if Favre isn’t hurt, then I wouldn’t be surprised to see them go places this year.

Favre’s retire/play game is the same one played a couple of years ago by the last captain of my beloved maple leafs. he spent half of last season hedging, then signed with Vancouver to finish the season. when he announced his retirement this season, a lot of leafs nation reacted with a “who cares, any more” attitude. too bad he tarnished his image with the fans who “made” him (just like Brett seems to be doing).

Yard work, that is what I have been up to today. Spraying blackberry, pruning raspberries and cutting back perennials. It was a great day here today, perfect for being outdoors.

Dont tell my “moms” on here but today i was at the point of just droping out. its bad man bad. driving me up the wall. i cant do this alone. and im so stuck i dont uderstand the classes are full there is nothing to do but be stuck ihave to have 12 hours for tops and 15 for my grant. i have 9 this has to be done soon. and im just lost here. i dont have class tomorrow but im going to school to talk to my advisor and see what she thinks i just cant keep this up. its crazy. i need some help here. and they say thats why the are there so she better help

Tabby yes talk to your advisor, that is what they are there for, what they get paid for, and most of them are very helpful. If you find she isn’t helping, get another advisor, but she will probably come thru for you.

Tabby - I agree with Dry. talk to someone. Don’t do anything drastic like dropping out. Someone should sit down with you and give you some direction and point out what needs to be done to make things go a little smoother for you.

Hi Lonewolf, I’m doing okay. I had an unexpected overnight stay at the military hospital. I went in yesterday at noon and got home about 1 this afternoon. I had a minor procedure done, but due to my medical situation, I had to stay overnight to make sure no problems arose. All went well.

Dry, I can tell the vacationers from the locals here. The locals are bundled up in parkas when the temps hit the 50’s and the vacationers (snowbirds) are in shorts and T-shirts.

Shika, I haven’t square danced since I was in middle school. They used to make us square dance in gym.

lol Carmy thats how it is here. or the people at school start of the mornings with a light jacket and shorts and flip flops…. form here the others are bundled up and looking at us like we are crazy or something, im not crazy nope nope nope. lol

Carmy We have a student from Texas this year. When it hit the 50’s she said, “BRR. Winter’s really coming now!” She couldn’t understand why we laughed.

Another one from Texas thinks that it is always cold - indoors.

I guess it is hard to get used to different climates.

I love when people don’t know what cold actually is.

I don’t think I would have any problems getting used to weather in Texas or Florida. As for Square Dancing, although I poke fun at square dancing for being a bit of a redneck thing, it beats the hell out of dancing to the variety of hip hop and rap that people dance to these days.

So the Phillies are down by 4, as if anyone here cares! I’m not a baseball fanatic but I do like the World Series. And my dad’s Yankees hat is here, so whoever wins wins. It’s just fun to watch, but the Yankees are kicking butt! I hope Daddy can see it!

Dry Our gym uniforms were blue. I still have mine- a one peice with buttons down the front. Imagine dancing in that.

Like I say, it’s fun for us up here, and it is a dance that seminarians can do without getting into trouble. LOL

Shika, Texas is a big state so there are places in northern or even central Texas that actually do get really cold. I’m from South Texas and I think the normal Winter temps there are probably in the 50’s or 60’s. It will get cooler at night and early morning, but in the day, it’s not usually cold at all.

Carmy Where’s San Antonio? That’s where she is from.

Carmy I’m sure of it! Did you see me say some time ago that he saw Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, and Joltin’ Joe deMaggjio play ball in person? And Ted something, who, if someone said the name I would remember.
