Doc, I have worked nights on several occasions and I can relate to the difficulty of many things including “partying”. But there are many pros about working nights that I like. I am on a list for a Federal job and my preference is listed as nights. I would prefer it at his point.

Doc–The only time I go to bars is for Pool League. To go and just drink and shoot the breeze, no! Too boring for me. I can do that at home with friends.

Wolfangil doesn’t go to bars unless it’s to watch me shoot pool, so all has worked out wel for the last 10 years plus! I don’t miss it at all.

Bars are expensive.

I am fine Terry. It’s unbelievable, I woke up and the temperature was 57 degrees. I guess the only place not being affected by bitter cold weather is the west coast. I hear Miami was 36 last night, the lowest in 80 years.

so i am thinking about getting dressed, yuck and going for a jog around the block again. i need to keep it up. but have diffrent shoes on this time yesterdays shoes hurt. new blance are strange. ill put on my running shoes and jog/walk the block 2 times. get some bload flowing and my brain a working…. thats asking alot.

maybe i will maybe i wont….. bbs to let you know. lets see how cold it is out.

i stuck my hand out the door and it didnt freez off so ill be back after a run.

We have a Chinook in progress, YAY! we’re now at 45F and climbing :-)

Good for your Digit. I was just talking to my cousin in Houston and it is really cold for them. It’s been in the 20s and their houses aren’t built for cold weather.

bmonk I am forever wondering what my wife sees in me.LOL

okay im back, didnt anybody think to tell me that running in cold weather is bad for you? two days in a row i do this, and both times i have a massive headache aftewards. dad said duh you are not supposed to run or jog in cold weather. so um where was that advisde?

@Tabby, it helps to have layers–to remove if necessary–and good wicking bottom layer, so you don’t get too sweaty and cold. But you also need a scarf or something to keep the cold off your face and help pre-heat the air you breathe. I’ve gotten bad headaches from wind on my temples, and from breathing too cold air also.

I think drinking before you go also helps from getting dehydrated, which may cause headaches.

so i freaking out at this moment… people posting on facebook that they are heading to class, people i could sware goes to the same school as me…. how the heck do you know if you have classes today and when they etart. i was told the 13. i just called a friend who i have class with and she didnt answer so im freeking out big time.

Many schools have a schedule on their website–when classes start and end, and that sort of thing. Or you could call the school office…

My work is done for the day, so thought I’d drop by and say hello. I loved today’s Big Top comic strip. While I was on my break, my co-worker was wondering why I was laughing so hard and when I showed her this comic strip she too burst out laughing.

Sure DF, I leave Calgary and the bitter cold, and you get a Chinook! No fair! Meanwhile, Cleo, we have 10 C (that’s 50 F) and very overcast skies. It was supposed to rain but it is really only drizzling so I guess I can’t complain, especially considering the rest of the continent!

Sorry I missed the celebration!

Our cold spell has broken! It was above freezing yesterday, up around 40F today. It still isn’t warm enough for me to enjoy the weather, but I’m glad the really cold spell is gone. I’m waiting to hear from my hubby. I hope it isn’t bad news. When I called him at lunch, he said there was an iceberg under his trailer. We hope none of the plumbing broke while it was frozen.

Dawn sleeping in, whats that? lol been having a 3 year old and lots of stress. thats whats doing it. that and not enough sleep, stressing over things such as my best friend, paying for school and more. its just a crazy life. my head is starting to ease up some finaly, it has about an hour to be gone.

Yep, Tabby That would do it. Try counting backwards from 100 to 1. It might lower your blood pressure and calm your head. I used to count from 01 to 1 to lower my voice for public speaking or singing. It served to calm me as well. Hello Celecca, Naomi and RMom.

Hi Cleo and Carmy. Cleo, long tedious, and at the end, I had to go get my friend’s friend’s car unstuck. She thought it was a dead battery, but the lights were still working. I never claimed to be a car expert, but I do know a thing or two about circuits, and I knew it wasn’t the battery. I about froze off my extremities so they could decide to call a tow truck. I’d be angry, but I’d rather be smug, lol.

Carmy I googled the book you read and see that it is a movie. it sounds very interesting.

Cleo, I am doing okay. I rest and I nap, it helps. We have been freezing here in FL. I went out early this morning and saw some cars with iced windshields. I’m so glad we have a garage. I did forget to bring my hanging plants inside and I don’t think they made it. They look very droopy.
