Coming Soon đ At the beginning of April, youâll be
introduced to a brand-new GoComics! See more information here. Subscribers, check your
email for more details.
I always forget that I need to eat too. I am having two eggs sunnyside up, honey ham, Texas toast, Johananâa CocoMocha and Docâs Nuclear Coffee. That should do me for a while.
This is a different setup because it is League 9Ball, but I won and the team also won. So it was a good night. And with this setup, all of the money that goes in comes back to the teams. works out nice for the players and the owners.
When my three-year-old son opened the birthday gift from his grandmother, he discovered a water pistol. He squealed with delight and headed for the nearest sink.
I was not so pleased. I turned to Mom and said, âIâm surprised at you. Donât you remember how we used to drive you crazy with water guns?â
Good morning all yesterday was a little scary weather wise here in SW Kansas although S part of OK had it worst.
I got stuck at work at to go to lower level as the sever weather came there where tornadoes. I work at Lake Afton pt. a tornado was also reported there but I didnât see any damage.
Kab - I was wondering how close the tornadoes came to you. The storm split, so some went north of us, and some went south. All we got was some rain, and a little wind. Not complaining!!
Two of my brothers live in Norman, OK, but they were on the opposite side of town from where the damage was there.
5 people died in OK, 0 in KS and no serious injuries, either according to the radio this morning.
Good Morning Grog & Doc. I can say with all honesty, with your present weather, I am glad that I do not live where you do Doc. Winter is supposed to be a distant memory.
Thanks, Cleo!
We get snow in KS too, so we donât miss out. Although, after the middle of April, we donât get any in my part of the state. Snow I donât mind too bad. Ice storms is what I really dislike - worse than tornadoes, because more people are affected, and it is harder to get away from the storm and the damage it causes.
Rmom and the weatherman said where in for it again. I checked the radar at work, the boss left at 4:15pm the Admin. Assist left at 4:30pm that is the end of her shift, and the strange part I was just talking about being trapped there last year only it was longer. Two weeks later Lake Afton did get it on a weekend anyone could see the trail the tornado left. Parts of KS doesnât always see tornadoes. As for snow then turns to ice and people donât drive very good on it drive too fast. When I finally did get home yesterday I saw no destruction but our street looked flooded. We have good drainage here. No hail. I imagine from Pratt, Kingman, especially Norwich had trouble, but no mention of Cheney, Garden Plain and Lake Afton is sandwich between south of Garden Plain and Goddard. That storm was fast.
Carmy you have that right and that oil is already creating a major mess. How badly is the air quality with all that wasted oil? I know there is worse than air quality with the effects on land.
See you later, Carmy!Kab - At least tonight, weâre only supposed to get 2â diameter hail, and not tornadoes. On the other hand, Wednesday could be worse. Guess weâll find out.
The Hesston tornado happened in March, and I think the temperatures were around then what weâve been having recently, so I knew it wasnât cold enough to keep tornadoes away.
Speaking of family jokes and suchâincluding water pistols, drums, and other lovely gifts:
In later years, somehow my parents got a toy cement mixer truck, one of those pull-toys for ages about 2-4. This particular to was a hit because (1) the kids were all grown, so it was only used when grandchildren came over, and (2 )when it was pulled around, it had a weird voice that said things like, âWho ordered da swimming pool?â or âWhere da ya want da street ta go?â It always made my mom laugh.
The tank of live lobsters at the seafood restaurant where I work is always popular with our younger patrons. Once, I was showing the lobsters to an angelic-looking six-year-old girl, who petted one of them and said, âGee, I wish I could take it home with me.â
âWhy?â I asked. âDo you want to eat it?â
âNo,â she replied. âI want to feed my little brother to it.â
Yes, I found a group of devil worshippers who wanted their own demon. So they moved it to a different vessel. I think it is currently residing in a teddy bear.
Lemme put it this way, 2 weeks ago I was trying to speed up my computer by deleting programs I donât use anymore. There was an audiorack thingie that had never been used. I didnât remember installing it so I thought Aha!! Hereâs the nasty bug in my system. I gleefully pressed deleteâŠ..
âŠand promptly wiped out all my audio programsâŠ.I canât hear anything on my âputer anymore. Not that I realized it then,,,it was only later after the computer had been off/on a few times and the recycle bin autodumped that I needed to watch a video and ooops
So I didnât know I could resize picturesâŠbut now Iâm very wary of changing ANYTHING on my âputer,
I did go to the Microsoft website to try and find my audio programâŠ.but I couldnât find anything to help. Iâm screwed.
You can save the small images by right clicking on the small âpreviewâ picture and save the picture/image/background as a jpeg on your computer. This works on both Google Images and Photobucket as well as other small images.
Quaby ~ There are a lot of people who know about computers on the Pibgorn page (a lot of chatting there too). They are really nice and will probably answer any questions you have if they can. (They like that technical stuff.)
Bmonk, Lonewolf & Ladywolf all spend time over there.
The IT guy at work said it might be possible to copy the audio program from my hubbyâs computer and install it on mine, since we have the same kind of computer with the same Windows program. But hubbyâs started school again and itâs hard to get enough time to do it. I was thinking of the Buffalo, I used to be on his email list. And thereâs Kim Kommando as well. Itâs just getting the extended time to do it.
Until then, itâll teach me to be TRIPLE CAREFUL when deleting programs.
AhâŠâŠ. time and timing is always a fun thing.
The above method works to save pictures with internet explorer (it probably is the same or similiar with other explorer programs).
Hi, LuvH8!
Sorry, I slipped away from the computer. I had to repair some socks for my son. (Heâs been patient - theyâve been waiting since before Christmas.) I need to do more of them, plus some other tasks Iâve been procrastinating on doing. Iâll be popping in & out the rest of the day.
Yes, I found a group of devil worshipers who wanted their own demon. So they moved it to a different vessel. I think it is currently residing in a teddy bear.
And, while the ducky is being niceâand a very nice ducky it is, tooâI was wondering if you shouldnât try a penguin sometime? You know, related, being a water creature and a bird and all.
Busy afternoon. I spent the past couple hours doing something thatâs really someone elses job. But isnce that person doesnât even have the new SAP system, I was given access to do the task.
Hey EMET. The Habsâll have to put up a repeat performance. Last night was probably their best game of the playoffs. Theyâll need to do the same tomorrow.
LuvH8
Apology accepted. And I like seeing the yellow blue-eyed ducky back. The penguins cute, but the duck may be more representative of your local.
Quaby
Iâm sorry. You can save the filter if it isnât ruined by putting it in a glass half full of water until you get a new pitcher. (they are supposed to remain wet after you start using them)
UmmâŠ. your husband or son could try the potato salad for you?
I tried it LuvH8 itâs not too bad considering I am really not fond of potato salad. And it should be cold, too, not room temp. Itâs in the fridge now. Iâm getting ready to finish off the kitchen cleanup of the mess (started a load of towels, including the soaking wet ones) and watch 1408.
Oh, and the filterâŠI dunno when Iâll be able to get a pitcher. Maybe this week if no unexpected bills crop up. But I should have at least thought of that.
I canât say I like most potato salads. Maybe Hot German Potato Salad if Iâm in the mood, but most others are only by lack of a better alternative.
If God had wanted us to eat potatoes covered in mayonnaise, he wouldnât have created potato chips. Or French Fries. Or baked potatoes. orâwell, you get the idea.
Bmonk
You could make potato salad with something elseâŠ..
ranch dressing & black olives instead of mayonaise, mustard and pickles? (add in some other veggies ~ peas, celery & broccoli maybe)
bmonk - You sound like my guys. None of them will eat potato salad. French fries, potato chips, okay. Baked potatoes for my hubby, but nothing with mayonaise.
I could make itâbut what about all the Pot Lucks and other dinners when I donât get to chose the menu or make the food? As I said, I like other salads, especially the ones with vinegar-based dressings, like German Potato Salad, or even more Three bean salad, Seven bean salad, Brocolli Pasta Salad, Butterfly pasta salad, and so on. But most potato salads? Bleech!
Reminds me of a cartoonâThe Born Loser* got a three bean salad: Three beans on a plateâŠ
LONE WOLF Lo siento mucho! I forgot to thank you for your eggs, perfectly round with no bubbles. I was comic surfing and I forgot to come back.
This blankity blank computer paid off finally. The most wonderful woman on earth told me she had never been to Cirque du Soleil (or in a tent for that matter). I stepped in something. First try I got front row middle for a reasonable price (if I eat rice and beans for the next two months) I am usually smart enough to buy tickets to anything 10 minutes after they go on sale, otherwise itâs the âWill Callâ window. That leads to seat shortages, like the time I saw Robert Goulet from behind my dateâs hairdo. Who knew you could buy tickets for anything but the Sox beating the Yankees.
The reason I do not have an avatar is I have nothing but photos on my computer. I tried one of a bearded me but thought it too intellectual next to my childish comments.
Lewreader ~ You can use the method I described to Quaby to find different images for your avatar. No Excuses Now! (maniacal giggles)
Bmonk if you are eating at Pot Lucks, I am glad you pray before you eat. I read that a glass of wine with or before eating will help fight off possible food poisoning.
My Mom loved them Rmom. There was no escaping them until I finally moved out. Now I wonât even buy a Lean Cuisine with green beens or peas in themâŠ.what a way to ruin an otherwise perfectly good meal.
Iâll also say that because of my Momâs preferences, thatâs where I picked up the habit of saving the best for last. Besides, we didnât get desert until everything on our plate was completely finished.
Grog - My mom never forced us to eat a certain food. My oldest brother & my Dad once got into a fight. Dad decided my brother WAS going to eat peas, and my brother decided he was NOT going to. (Reportedly - this happened before I was born) Dad had my brother pinned to the floor, holding his nose and tried to forcefeed him peas. My brother was smart enough to keep his teeth clenched shut, and could breathe that way, without opening his mouth. My brother won.
The only way I can stand to eat peas or green beans is to cover one with some other food I like. Like a spoonful of mashed potatoes at the same time. I usually donât eat them, unless Iâm at my in-laws, and donât think it is worth arguing about, and even then, I only take about 3.
My mom said she treated all 5 of us kids the same way when it came to food, but only my oldest brother & I are finicky. The other 3 will eat almost everything. (Iâm the youngest.)
Funny thing is, Rmom, my Mom was more finicky than Petey Potterloop.
I have a pretty varied palate and will try anything new. But my Momâs limited list of bland & boring foods she likes to eat, I considered disgusting for the most part. There were some things she ate I liked - but not much.
@Grog, like cutting off the heart of the watermelon and saving it for last? (Itâs sweeter.)
@Rmom, as any mother can tell you, children are themselves from day one. They are not infinitely malleable. Each has individual likes and dislikes. (Some of their individuality is even apparent before birth! Like who kicks, and at what, and so onâŠ)
@LuvH8, we had to try every dish, but not eat a lot. And our parents didnât fill our plates, so we had no excuse not to eat what we took. Otherwise, a similar idea to yours.
We were not allowed to leave the table until all our food was gone (or apparently bed time). I remember several nights sitting at the table for 3 or 4 hours before being allowed to get up and go to bed.
Yes, but Grog if we were at the table there was nothing to do, and we werenât allowed to talk. You donât actually think we would have stayed quietly in our beds staring at the ceiling until we fell asleep? We would have prefered going to bed early. Also, the chairs were wood, not comfortable for sitting in for extended periods of time.
Bmonk - I know that , but I wish my MIL understood that. My oldest son never cared for mushy rice cereal. We mixed it with formula at first, because he kept waking up in the middle of the night to eat (while I was still nursing him). The doctor thought he needed something that took longer to digest. My son would only swallow a small amount, and then refuse the rest. Later, when I tried to spoon feed him, (6 months old) the first bite he was eager for and opened his mouth. The second bite he kept his mouth shut and just kept shaking his head no, making it impossible for me to hit his mouth aka moving target. All other foods he would eat, some more eagerly than others, but forget the rice cereal!
I didnât say they would improve potato salad I just said it was an option to consider. If one does not like peas, why would they put it in the potato salad?
By the time I came along (and can remember) we were allowed to fill our own plates, but was expected to eat everything on our plate. We didnât have to take something if we didnât want it. Mom didnât want us to be overweight (runs in her family) so we werenât forced to eat everything. Seems like if we wanted dessert though, we had to eat enough to satisfy our parentsâ expectations. Since one of my brothers has a huge appetite, and will eat everything except liver & brussel sprouts, they were more concerned that we werenât hungry.
Iâm just saying that thatâs how this got going. Of course, Iâm not going to put peas or anything else I donât like in my potato salad - if I decide to have potato salad. I prefer most of my veggies cooked anyway.
I like most of my vegetables either way. The problem with cooking them is usually I then want some salt on them and that is a bad thing. Or it would be if I actually cut back on my salt like I am supposed to.
Speaking of saltâŠ
My oldest son loves salt, hates peas. When we were at my in-laws once, and he was ordered to eat one pea, he did. However, it was hard to see it for all the salt he drowned it in.
Well, my hubby had some of the potato salad and is still alive and didnât come back here to tell me how awful it was. So I take it to work tomorrow.
Work tomorrow. Talk about two filthy words. I like sleeping until 10am. I like stretching and contracting and yawning as I wake up. Tomorrow I have to be up at 7am and out like a shot (I have tons of email, Iâm sure).
Anyway, All I have left of the kitchen is the stove, and that can wait until after I fix Saturdayâs meal. So now I have to bid adieu and go wrap things up so I can go to bed at a reasonably decent hour. Yaâll have fun now, hear?
Grog - He heavily salts almost everything he eats, but not quite THAT heavily. The doctor said it was fine that he ate that much salt, unless he develops high blood pressure. Runs in my hubbyâs family, not in mine.
Just like sauerkraut, the best potato salad that I have ever made had caraway seeds in it. Peas are great, but just need to be heated. If you overcook them or buy them in a can, you might as well save yourself the trouble of eating them. We had them last night in a pasta primavera with asparagus. They were frozen and I tossed them into the pasta after the heat was turned off and let the other ingredients melt them and that was that, sweet and tasty.
Hi, Cleo! We knew if we started talking about food, youâd show up. Do you like Caraway Puffs? My hubby loves them, but I canât stand caraway seeds.
LuvH8, I will check out your comment on Imagine This.
Grog, what about the most current King Kong. In my mind, the original is best and the newest ranks ahead of the one with Jessica Lange, but, having said that, I find Jessica Lange very enticing.
Admittedly I havenât seen the newest one, cleo. But I agree that the Original was the best of the ones Iâve seen. And yes, Jessica Lange is pretty much the most enticing thing about this movie. But I also like Charles Grodinâs performance.
Grog, as a kid I had a very low tolerance to salt and I also developed an ulcer. Salty foods did not agree with me. Having said this, I ate very unusual foods for a kid, like gizzards, spinach, head cheese, pickled pigs feet, etc. But I had a problem with tomato juice, side pork and ham, because they were too salty for me. At the age of 11 or 12 I discovered that I had an ulcer.
Do you think thatâll happen EMET? Itâs always like that will cable or Satelite. I have the dish, pretty much for Sunday ticket only, but I get the premium package (without the Starz etc movie channels, just to get the few channels I like.
A priest is walking down the street one day when he notices a very small boy trying to press a doorbell on a house across the street. However, the boy is very small and the doorbell is too high for him to reach. After watching the boyâs efforts for some time, the priest moves closer to the boyâs position. He steps smartly across the street, walks up behind the little fellow and, placing his hand kindly on the childâs shoulder, leans over and gives the doorbell a solid ring. Crouching down to the childâs level, the priest smiles benevolently and asks, âAnd now what, my little man?â
To which the boy turns and hollers, âNow we run!â
Well, Grog, since my bedroom is on the 3rd floor, Iâm not going to wait for a tornado to wake me up before I head to the basement. Sometimes storms wake me up, sometimes I sleep through them. But the weather alarm always wakes me when it goes off.
Well I didnât have to worry about going to the basement Rmom, because I didnât and still donât have one. My safest bet is an interior room, which unfortunately is a 1/2 bath - or a closet that runs beneath my stairway.
Hurricanes are even more fun. I high-tail it up to Dallas every time oneâs confirmed to be coming through the Houston area. Talk about a destructive force.
Well I guess Iâll call it a night. My original Kong movie is on VHS, so Iâll have to watch it in a more comfortable part of the house. Iâll be turning in when thatâs over
I think hurricanes are worse, because you have the hurricane AND tornadoes. Plus, it is such widespread devastation, that everyone in the area needs help. When a tornado comes, we have enough advance warning to make it to a storm shelter, but we usually only have to stay there for 15-30 minutes. If a tornado does hit (which the odds are really quite small), the path is generally less than a mile wide. Many times it will get the houses on one side of the street, and leave the ones on the other side untouched. With not everyone suffering at the same time, those who werenât affected are available and usually willing to help their neighbors & friends. The motels arenât booked full, either, if you need a temporary place to stay.
The weather service is much better at giving advance warnings, and then as the storm develops & moves, theyâre pretty good at pinpointing who is at risk. Last night, even though I started packing up things to take to the basement, we never needed to go.
Mom lived in KS for more than 50 years before she ever saw a tornado. Going to the basement is 99.99% safe to survive a tornado (only deaths in basements that I know about are a result of the debris hitting them - which is why you want something sturdy over your head.) Even if you fear losing your house, it doesnât happen with most tornadoes, because so much of KS is farmland. I think the odds of getting struck with lighting is higher, but it still makes sense to take precautions.
~Grandma joke~
While I was recuperating from surgery, my mother and mother-in-law both offered to help with my very active two-year-old. My mother came first. Five exhausting days later, she got in the car with my husband to drive to the airport where his mother was now due to arrive. âWhere are you going?â a neighborâs child asked.
In a tired voice, Mother answered, âHeâs taking a used grandma to the airport and picking up a fresh one.â
I probably need to head to bed. It might be a night with very little sleep, but Iâm not going to wait up for the storms to arrive here.
Good night, tribe!
Speaking of the vegetables and eating food you didnât like when you were a child.
I donât like peas. If they are in front of me, I swallow them without chewing them.
If I like a vegetable, I usually eat it raw except corn. What I call ânormalâ vegetablesâŠâŠ..cucumbers, peppers, carrots, lettuce, radishes, popcorn, caramel corn, etc. LOL
Hello and very soon goodnight all. I too want to get some sleep how I wish the hail will bypass us.
For potato salad I cheat a little we buy from store the small secret I micro wave potatoes to add and rinse off sweet pickles. Donât like a lot of mayo.
LW18 (LADYWOLF) Rmom is fairly right between Tornadoes and hurricanes. Look what happened in the west coast.
Yesterdayâs tornados moved very fast and Wed maybe another. I was told usually happens after Momâs Day.
Well my rt shoulder is bothering me so this is very short and bed time. Wed therapy. The last of the suture is out now get muscles to losses up. Good night all pleasant dreams. I need to save for a lap top computer.
I am okay. I should call my mom but I donât feel like it. So how bad is it when you go from really loud brake noises to it sounding like it is dragging when you are not braking? I think I will be very grateful, I donât have to pay the bill.
I donât like my momâs car though. It doesnât like to speed & the seat wonât adjust right for me. UmmâŠ.. I didnât mean that I never speed.
Hi LadyWolf, how are you enjoying your car? I hope you are still being careful to drive safely.
I figured about the brakes. Itâs the car I drive that needs that. I started driving my Gmaâs car because it seemed kind of stupid to pay full coverage on two cars for one driver. I am getting rid of my car soon.
Hello Tribe! Havenât been around for a very long time and I notice a few changes.
Thanks for the score, Terry..Guess the Canucks have had it. SighâŠ
Not too badly, Thanks, Terry. but I have been so busy that i havenât been able to get on the âputer. But reading todayâs so pleasant postings, Iâll try to get back on more.
Congrats, LadyWolf. Last time I read your posts, I think you may have been taking your licence. Or were you getting your car - it was a couple of months ago.
I humbly apologize to all people of Canadian origin who may have taken offense to my ignorance that Canuck is used as another name for Canadians. It is a very âŠâŠ um interesting name.
Terry, to bad that I didnât know you about 30 years ago. I, at that time, was a good pool player, then I got out of the relationship that I was in and pool no longer was a part of my life, to my dismay. Now, I like to play, whenever I get a chance, but I suck. I am still good at angle shots, but really suck at straight shots and long, full table shots. It is to bad because I still live to play, but I have no one in my life who is interested anymore.
Cleo, from many of your posts, I too wish the same. As far as pool goes, if you play regularly a few times straight, the game and the shots come back pretty quick. I enjoy it very much, but I too would not play, if I didnât have someone whoâs company I I enjoy, to shoot with.
Iâll behave!âŠâŠIt is after all just a game. Iâm excited Other than my dad, I have never gone up against another wolf before in a my team vs. your team series.
Yes, LuvH8, my dinner was a good one. Wolfangil made pepper and egg sammiches. It is one of my favorite simple meals when she doesnât feel like cooking something elaborate.
Terry, I had a girlfriend in the 70âs who liked pool and we played almost nightly. We got to be so evenly matched that you never knew who was going to win. It was so fun and we were so good, but that was a life time ago and since then I have not had one person in my life who has taken more than a passing interest (except one in Texas). He was so good that he could run the table 1 out of 4 tries. He was fun to watch, but discouraging to play. LOL
Heheh, Cleo. I too, can ârun the tableâ at that rate. But if I am out having fun with a friend and my concentration is not that strong, my game becomes less competitive. And of course I donât play friends for money. Ever!
I probably would like to play him from your description, Cleo. Even the leagues I shoot in, sometimes they are too serious for me. If I am not having fun, it is not worth it to me. There is RL after shooting pool. Thatâs for the tournaments and even then it must be enjoyable or I wonât return to that tournament the next time. Donât get me wrong, I am very competitive, but I play within my skill level and try to have fun always.
Cleo - Maine is one of the few places I have not been that I would like to visit someday. i had a friend from Maine years ago. Sadly, Iâve lost contact with him and the last time I had contact with him was pre-internet and computers, so I doubt I will ever find him again.

WARNING ~ Dirty Joke Ahead
A boy came in from playing in the yard and asked his mother, âWho am I?â
Ready to play the game she said, âI donât know! Who are you?â
âWOW!â cried the child. âThe neighbor was right! She said I was so dirty, my own mother wouldnât recognize me!â

WARNING ~ The Joke Is On Mom!
Mom smiled and then replied ⊠âI remember.â

WARNING ~ Family Car Joke!
The teenage daughter, Cathy, had just been given family car privileges.
One Friday night she returned home from a party late.
The next morning her mother went out to the driveway to get the newspaper and came back into the house frowning.
At 11:30 AM Cathy sleepily walked into the kitchen to face the question, âWhat time did you get in last night?â
âNot too late, Mom.â
âThen Iâll have to talk with the paperboy about putting the paper under the front tire of the car,â commented her straight-faced mother!

Good morning all yesterday was a little scary weather wise here in SW Kansas although S part of OK had it worst. I got stuck at work at to go to lower level as the sever weather came there where tornadoes. I work at Lake Afton pt. a tornado was also reported there but I didnât see any damage.

Smiley Rmom almost 15 years ago
Kab - I was wondering how close the tornadoes came to you. The storm split, so some went north of us, and some went south. All we got was some rain, and a little wind. Not complaining!! Two of my brothers live in Norman, OK, but they were on the opposite side of town from where the damage was there. 5 people died in OK, 0 in KS and no serious injuries, either according to the radio this morning.
cleokaya almost 15 years ago

Good Morning Rmom, glad that you are safe.
rac, I have to agree with you. As much as snow should be but a memory, I would rather get snow then a tornado as well.
Smiley Rmom almost 15 years ago
Thanks, Cleo! We get snow in KS too, so we donât miss out. Although, after the middle of April, we donât get any in my part of the state. Snow I donât mind too bad. Ice storms is what I really dislike - worse than tornadoes, because more people are affected, and it is harder to get away from the storm and the damage it causes.

kab2rb almost 15 years ago
That storm was fast.
kab2rb almost 15 years ago
Rmom what really surprises me though itâs been very cool here I didnât think we would have tornadoes.

Rmom my sense of adventure ends when Iâm flying without a plane.
Morning Cleo First agreement Iâve gotten all day. Even the voices in my head are cranky.
Smiley Rmom almost 15 years ago
See you later, Carmy! Kab - At least tonight, weâre only supposed to get 2â diameter hail, and not tornadoes. On the other hand, Wednesday could be worse. Guess weâll find out. The Hesston tornado happened in March, and I think the temperatures were around then what weâve been having recently, so I knew it wasnât cold enough to keep tornadoes away.
Smiley Rmom almost 15 years ago
Rac - And how do you manage to fly without a plane? Been drinking Docâs coffee and getting that super power from it?

Once, I was showing the lobsters to an angelic-looking six-year-old girl, who petted one of them and said, âGee, I wish I could take it home with me.â âWhy?â I asked. âDo you want to eat it?â âNo,â she replied. âI want to feed my little brother to it.â

You can save the small images by right clicking on the small âpreviewâ picture and save the picture/image/background as a jpeg on your computer. This works on both Google Images and Photobucket as well as other small images.

Hey EMET. The Habsâll have to put up a repeat performance. Last night was probably their best game of the playoffs. Theyâll need to do the same tomorrow.
LuvH8 Apology accepted. And I like seeing the yellow blue-eyed ducky back. The penguins cute, but the duck may be more representative of your local.

Quaby Iâm sorry. You can save the filter if it isnât ruined by putting it in a glass half full of water until you get a new pitcher. (they are supposed to remain wet after you start using them)
UmmâŠ. your husband or son could try the potato salad for you?
Quabaculta almost 15 years ago
I tried it LuvH8 itâs not too bad considering I am really not fond of potato salad. And it should be cold, too, not room temp. Itâs in the fridge now. Iâm getting ready to finish off the kitchen cleanup of the mess (started a load of towels, including the soaking wet ones) and watch 1408.

Ooops! Premium Member almost 15 years ago
Bmonk You could make potato salad with something elseâŠ.. ranch dressing & black olives instead of mayonaise, mustard and pickles? (add in some other veggies ~ peas, celery & broccoli maybe)
Smiley Rmom almost 15 years ago
bmonk - You sound like my guys. None of them will eat potato salad. French fries, potato chips, okay. Baked potatoes for my hubby, but nothing with mayonaise.
bmonk almost 15 years ago

Smiley Rmom almost 15 years ago

There were some things she ate I liked - but not much.
bmonk almost 15 years ago
@Grog, like cutting off the heart of the watermelon and saving it for last? (Itâs sweeter.)
@Rmom, as any mother can tell you, children are themselves from day one. They are not infinitely malleable. Each has individual likes and dislikes. (Some of their individuality is even apparent before birth! Like who kicks, and at what, and so onâŠ)

When the monkeys were little I would tell them they had to try three bites of a new food.

GROG Premium Member almost 15 years ago
bmonk, it was more like eat the pea/green beans first, eat the dry mashed taters next and eat the meat last & hope that desert isnât fruit salad.
Ooops! Premium Member almost 15 years ago
Poor Grog,
We were not allowed to leave the table until all our food was gone (or apparently bed time). I remember several nights sitting at the table for 3 or 4 hours before being allowed to get up and go to bed.
GROG Premium Member almost 15 years ago
Because you refused to eat what was served, LuvH8?. If we did that, my parents wouldnât waste time. Weâd be in bed early.
Ooops! Premium Member almost 15 years ago
Smiley Rmom almost 15 years ago
GROG Premium Member almost 15 years ago
My parents couldnât do that, LuvH8. There was a 14â TV in the kitchen.
Ooops! Premium Member almost 15 years ago

GROG Premium Member almost 15 years ago
Whereâs cleo? About this time he usually tells us what heâs having for supper.
Ooops! Premium Member almost 15 years ago
I didnât say they would improve potato salad I just said it was an option to consider. If one does not like peas, why would they put it in the potato salad?
Smiley Rmom almost 15 years ago

Smiley Rmom almost 15 years ago
Grog - Do you prefer your carrots cooked or raw? I can swallow them cooked, but much prefer raw.
Ooops! Premium Member almost 15 years ago
I like most of my vegetables either way. The problem with cooking them is usually I then want some salt on them and that is a bad thing. Or it would be if I actually cut back on my salt like I am supposed to.
Smiley Rmom almost 15 years ago
Speaking of salt⊠My oldest son loves salt, hates peas. When we were at my in-laws once, and he was ordered to eat one pea, he did. However, it was hard to see it for all the salt he drowned it in.
GROG Premium Member almost 15 years ago
Rmom cooked, but not cooked to death. I like to start with steaming them and then saute in a little Smart Balance. No salt, but I will add pepper.
Quabaculta almost 15 years ago
GROG Premium Member almost 15 years ago
HaHaHA. Good one Rmom. I never did like salt that much. Pepper on the other hand is another story.
Smiley Rmom almost 15 years ago
See you later, Quaby!
Smiley Rmom almost 15 years ago
Grog - He heavily salts almost everything he eats, but not quite THAT heavily. The doctor said it was fine that he ate that much salt, unless he develops high blood pressure. Runs in my hubbyâs family, not in mine.

Howdy all. It was a gorgeous day here, which I took advantage of by staying out of the house.
cleokaya almost 15 years ago
Just like sauerkraut, the best potato salad that I have ever made had caraway seeds in it. Peas are great, but just need to be heated. If you overcook them or buy them in a can, you might as well save yourself the trouble of eating them. We had them last night in a pasta primavera with asparagus. They were frozen and I tossed them into the pasta after the heat was turned off and let the other ingredients melt them and that was that, sweet and tasty.
Smiley Rmom almost 15 years ago
Hi, Cleo! We knew if we started talking about food, youâd show up. Do you like Caraway Puffs? My hubby loves them, but I canât stand caraway seeds.
Ooops! Premium Member almost 15 years ago
Hello Cleo
Thatâs pretty much how I like my peas. But once in a while I just throw some in a bowl from the freezer and munch on them.
I responded to you on Imagine This.

Hey, cleo You missed our little segment on things we hated eating when we were kids, but itâs never too late to join in.
Iâm doing a King Kong double feature tonight. The 1976 version (Jessica Lange) followed by the 1933 version with Fay Wray.

LadyWolf it looks like you arrived just in time.
cleokaya almost 15 years ago
LuvH8, I will check out your comment on Imagine This.
Grog, what about the most current King Kong. In my mind, the original is best and the newest ranks ahead of the one with Jessica Lange, but, having said that, I find Jessica Lange very enticing.
Smiley Rmom almost 15 years ago
Hi, EMET - Sorry, no sports reports from me.

I love her in the remake of A Postman Always Rings Twice.

Ladywolf - Nice to see you again.

GROG Premium Member almost 15 years ago
Admittedly I havenât seen the newest one, cleo. But I agree that the Original was the best of the ones Iâve seen. And yes, Jessica Lange is pretty much the most enticing thing about this movie. But I also like Charles Grodinâs performance.
cleokaya almost 15 years ago
Grog, as a kid I had a very low tolerance to salt and I also developed an ulcer. Salty foods did not agree with me. Having said this, I ate very unusual foods for a kid, like gizzards, spinach, head cheese, pickled pigs feet, etc. But I had a problem with tomato juice, side pork and ham, because they were too salty for me. At the age of 11 or 12 I discovered that I had an ulcer.

~Joke for Bmonk~
A priest is walking down the street one day when he notices a very small boy trying to press a doorbell on a house across the street. However, the boy is very small and the doorbell is too high for him to reach. After watching the boyâs efforts for some time, the priest moves closer to the boyâs position. He steps smartly across the street, walks up behind the little fellow and, placing his hand kindly on the childâs shoulder, leans over and gives the doorbell a solid ring. Crouching down to the childâs level, the priest smiles benevolently and asks, âAnd now what, my little man?â To which the boy turns and hollers, âNow we run!â

Well, I hope tonightâs weather doesnât keep me awake. Theyâve just called a tornado watch until 4am. I guess it keeps life from being boring!

Smiley Rmom almost 15 years ago
Well, Grog, since my bedroom is on the 3rd floor, Iâm not going to wait for a tornado to wake me up before I head to the basement. Sometimes storms wake me up, sometimes I sleep through them. But the weather alarm always wakes me when it goes off.
GROG Premium Member almost 15 years ago
Well I didnât have to worry about going to the basement Rmom, because I didnât and still donât have one. My safest bet is an interior room, which unfortunately is a 1/2 bath - or a closet that runs beneath my stairway.
ladywolf17 almost 15 years ago
Rmom Iâve never been to a state that has severe tornado warnings. I donât think that Iâd want to be either, It sounds very scary.
GROG Premium Member almost 15 years ago
Hurricanes are even more fun. I high-tail it up to Dallas every time oneâs confirmed to be coming through the Houston area. Talk about a destructive force.
Well I guess Iâll call it a night. My original Kong movie is on VHS, so Iâll have to watch it in a more comfortable part of the house. Iâll be turning in when thatâs over

Smiley Rmom almost 15 years ago

~Grandma joke~ While I was recuperating from surgery, my mother and mother-in-law both offered to help with my very active two-year-old. My mother came first. Five exhausting days later, she got in the car with my husband to drive to the airport where his mother was now due to arrive. âWhere are you going?â a neighborâs child asked. In a tired voice, Mother answered, âHeâs taking a used grandma to the airport and picking up a fresh one.â

cleokaya almost 15 years ago
Terry, to bad that I didnât know you about 30 years ago. I, at that time, was a good pool player, then I got out of the relationship that I was in and pool no longer was a part of my life, to my dismay. Now, I like to play, whenever I get a chance, but I suck. I am still good at angle shots, but really suck at straight shots and long, full table shots. It is to bad because I still live to play, but I have no one in my life who is interested anymore.
Ooops! Premium Member almost 15 years ago
(I know I could make a shark lurking behind him or make his wolf cry big fat tears. Hee hee hee!)
So, Lonewolf did you have a nice dinner tonight?
cleokaya almost 15 years ago
Dawn did you hit a rough spot in your life? If so, you should know that we are always here for you.
COWBOY7 almost 15 years ago
Cleo, from many of your posts, I too wish the same. As far as pool goes, if you play regularly a few times straight, the game and the shots come back pretty quick. I enjoy it very much, but I too would not play, if I didnât have someone whoâs company I I enjoy, to shoot with.
ladywolf17 almost 15 years ago
Iâll behave!âŠâŠIt is after all just a game. Iâm excited Other than my dad, I have never gone up against another wolf before in a my team vs. your team series.
COWBOY7 almost 15 years ago
Yes, LuvH8, my dinner was a good one. Wolfangil made pepper and egg sammiches. It is one of my favorite simple meals when she doesnât feel like cooking something elaborate.
COWBOY7 almost 15 years ago
Which team are you for in this upcoming series, Ladywolf?
DawnAvril almost 15 years ago
Thanks, Cleo I know that you have some idea from your wifeâs problems. I too, used to play pool. Got quite good when I was in my twenties.
cleokaya almost 15 years ago
Terry, I had a girlfriend in the 70âs who liked pool and we played almost nightly. We got to be so evenly matched that you never knew who was going to win. It was so fun and we were so good, but that was a life time ago and since then I have not had one person in my life who has taken more than a passing interest (except one in Texas). He was so good that he could run the table 1 out of 4 tries. He was fun to watch, but discouraging to play. LOL
ladywolf17 almost 15 years ago
â Lonewolfâ I have to go with the sharks this time. They are after all West Coast just like me.
Ooops! Premium Member almost 15 years ago
Well, of course you will behave LadyWolf, you are a very nice person.
(I like the lurking shark idea, itâs fun and not really mean. Tears might hurt his feelings.)
COWBOY7 almost 15 years ago
Heheh, Cleo. I too, can ârun the tableâ at that rate. But if I am out having fun with a friend and my concentration is not that strong, my game becomes less competitive. And of course I donât play friends for money. Ever!
Ooops! Premium Member almost 15 years ago

cleokaya almost 15 years ago
Terry, he lives in Maine, so of course he is a Maineac.
COWBOY7 almost 15 years ago
I probably would like to play him from your description, Cleo. Even the leagues I shoot in, sometimes they are too serious for me. If I am not having fun, it is not worth it to me. There is RL after shooting pool. Thatâs for the tournaments and even then it must be enjoyable or I wonât return to that tournament the next time. Donât get me wrong, I am very competitive, but I play within my skill level and try to have fun always.
COWBOY7 almost 15 years ago
Cleo - Maine is one of the few places I have not been that I would like to visit someday. i had a friend from Maine years ago. Sadly, Iâve lost contact with him and the last time I had contact with him was pre-internet and computers, so I doubt I will ever find him again.
