Some university was trying to introduce wild turkeys into their state. Released 8 Turkeys. Within a few minutes 6 of them were killed. One flew over a highway and was hit by a car, one flew into a tree and killed itself, etc. As they didn’t know if the two left were of different or same sex they didn’t know if their project might work!

Hi, Grog! How’s your weather doing? We’re supposed to be about 8 degrees cooler than yesterday - only 101F is forecasted, and it is 99.8F now.

It was 96 the last time I looked. I’m sure it’s hotter now. The heat index is supposed to be 109 today.

It looks like the high for heat index today is 105. At least it is on a downward trend!

It’s supposed to get up to 84° today. It is already 62°, I had to turn the fan on. Maybe if I drink CocoMocha floats all day I can survive the terrible heat?

Grog - On days like these, I’m sure you’re glad you have an indoor job! Luv - Sounds messy! Pop gets sticky and attracts flies. I told my sons that they could dye their hair, as long as it was a natural color. One son went through a phase where he wanted blond hair (when he was a child, it was blond, but now it is dark brown). We did the “Sun-In” dye, and with as short of hair as he had, we had to do it about every week. He quickly tired of having “high-maintenance” hair.

Rmom, I don’t envy our operators, loaders and maintenance people who have to endure the heat. They also get to climb up to the top of the silos, which must be a joy on days like this.

Grog - I don’t either. When it is this hot, the high wages the shop people get are definitely earned. Where my hubby works, there are welders (both robotic & human) and lasers putting out extra heat. At least they’re in the shade, but it feels like being in an oven. (When I’m visiting him, I sometimes end up going into the shop to track him down.)

Rmom - I don’t and haven’t played it in a long time. Questions about science, nature, etc. I can usually answer. Questions about movies, entertainment, etc. I usually have no idea!

Sojo - My youngest son & I are the same way when we’ve watched Jeopardy. (My mom liked that show.) Sports, movies, entertainment, we are totally clueless about. However, we do well with history or current political questions, and other non “pop-culture” type of questions.

Rmom - “Pop-culture” and such I don’t usually care about and so don’t remember anything about what’s going on in that area.
