It seems flagged comments are deleted without checking to see if it’s really inapporiate. It is sad that someone feels they need to flag something because they just don’t like it or who posted it. It is a problem the flagger has that they have to deal with.

Sojo I think they read the comments before they delete them. But comments that are flagged by multiple people are more likely to get deleted than comments flagged by one or two people. So a group of people who work together would greatly increase their odds of getting comments deleted. Also, I don’t know if GoComics has the resources / need to track who is doing the flagging so abusing flagging probably not a concern, especially if done from a second account.

Hi, Luv! I do like voting by mail. Then if something is on the ballot I hadn’t realized, I have time to do some research before deciding how to vote. Of course, there is the downside of advance voting - sometimes I find out something after I voted but before election day that would have caused me to vote differently. Happened this year with the primary election, so I voted for one guy, and my hubby & son (who rely on me to do the research) voted for the other guy. The race ended in a tie, and was decided by a coin toss. So, my vote really did decide the election! (There is no opponent in the general election.) At least I think it was the difference between “good” and “better”, so I’m not terribly upset.

Luv - that’s my plan, is to use the drop box today.

So much work to determine what has more or less caffeine. Likely the differences are small enough to not be worth all the effort.

Maybe caffeine is like alcohol–a can of beer, a glass of wine, and a shot of spirits all have about the same amount of alcohol.

But I doubt it. Certainly some pop types have more than others. And I doubt tea has anywhere near the caffeine as coffee…

     •  Reply

I thought Mountain Dew had the most caffeine for pop, other than ones like Jolt and energy drinks. I’ll drink Pepsi or Coke, but for the morning, I prefer the citrus taste of Mt. Dew. If I’m still dragging at lunch, then I have a cola. I know baking is supposed to remove the alcohol, does baking remove caffeine, too? I hadn’t heard of a Mountain Dew cake, but I’d be willing to try it at least once. I try to quit the caffeine (except for chocolate, that’s not enough to affect me) in the afternoon, or else when I do go to bed, I have more trouble getting to sleep.

We can vote by mail here without needing a reason, but it has to be received by the election office by election day. (Not at a polling place, but the county office.) KS laws might get a little tighter if the Republican wins Secretary of State, because right now, unless one is a first time voter, they don’t have to show any ID to vote.

That other strip got a few of us going. Could be that was the poster’s original intent.

Pop I am home, voted, and may leave Missouri! I think they have voted down the puppy mill amendment that would have protected animals and improved living conditions….no more crowded cages etc. Maybe people thought it was too intrusive.

I am feeling sad. Goodnight Lonewolf and Sojo and to anyone who is about.
